1-10 of 48 Transatlantic Norwegian Gem Transatlantic Cruise Reviews
This was a transatantic from rome to new york. i did this cruise last year on ncl epic and didn't much like it, but i've been on the gem and other gem class ships and you were never in doublt you were on a ship, no matter where you were. it looked like a cruise ship, smelt like a cruise ship everyone knew. the giant floating shopping centers don't appeal to me. i don't want to have to board ...
This was my second time on the Gem. Despite the ship's fanbase, I'm still on the fence about it's allure. The floorplan is not always user friendly, and advances to the industry since its launch seem clumsily and sometimes illogically squeezed into the deckplans. Still, it has its charms, mostly found in its initmacy.
Cabins on deck 4 are subject to being the exit / entrance level for some ...
This was our 5th transatlantic and 1st back to back cruise. Things have improved in NYC terminal as far as organization of embarking passengers. We had a "balcony" cabin (somewhat smaller than what we have had in the past) which was fine. The food/bar and housecleaning/general staff went above and beyond and are second to none. Problems we encountered was with guest services and administration. ...
The cruise was great the food was great entertainment was awesome. Now the 20.00 a day gratuities was very strange. We were told the crew does not recieve the gratuities we were charged. We asked several of the servers they told us they only got what the contract stated. We went to the front desk filled out a form stating we would do our own gratuities and we did you have to hand them cash or they ...
I chose this cruise because the were only 4 consecutive sea days. As soon as I booked it the itinerary change to 5 sea days. 3 days into the cruise it was changed to 6 consecutive days at sea. I understand things like weather come into play. You accept that when you book. You also expect that when you add days the cruise line would have some sort of activities to make up for the lost ports. This ...
We were very pleased, my wife and I with the great ports visited, the Greek Islands plus Split and back to back return to New York, it was very convenient.
We experience waves on deck 8 in the Tequila bar that came up as high as the middle of our window. This was an exciting event to say the least. On three occasions plates and furniture hit the floor and some passengers were hurt. It was ...
Our ship left from Venice, Italy for a 14-day cruise to New York, with several stops before the ocean. We had no problems at the various ports along the way. In fact, we absolutely loved Porto Degado in the Azores.
Our problem was not with the stops or the excursions. Our problem was with Norwegian trying to extract money from us all he time. We were "expected" to buy drinks or play bingo. ...
This was a 21 day cruise consisting of 2 cruises back to back: a 7 day cruise departing and returning to Venice visiting Croatia and the Greek Isles and then a 14 day transatlantic cruise from Venice to New York City visiting several ports in Spain and Portugal. This was our 4th cruise on NCL and our 2nd Transatlantic cruise on NCL. We have been on 20+ cruises.
Before anyone starts to ...
This was purchased this as a 21 day, our 30th cruise-3rd with NCL. We're retired-60 and 61.
I'll try to point out the positive and negative to reflect my ratings.
Embarkation went smoothly and the ship definitely has that WOW factor. It is a beautiful, stately vessel but the public rooms were all too small and too crowded.
The cabin was tight but the bed was very ...
We have sailed several times - most on NCL. We always select interior cabins because our goal is to spend as little time there as possible. We have been pleased with NCL in the past. In fact, our favorite cruise was a full transit Panama Canal cruise in 2009. However, this was our worst cruise ever and fr at least two reasons:
Embarkation, ports of call and debarkation were all "okay". ...
