I have never been in a balcony cabin that was so poorly laid out. It’s a good thing that my friend and I are small ladies because a larger man or woman would be extremely uncomfortable in these rooms. We had our beds separated and that meant you had to squeeze your way past one bed to get to the other. The bathroom was tiny by any standard and my husband would have never fit in that shower. Storage was limited, so if you are bringing more than a carry-on bag with clothes, good luck putting everything away. There were three tittle drawers for the two of us and a couple of cubby holes to share. That’s all. Read Less

This was a Sail Away balcony forward on the starboard side. The balcony is in the bulkhead, but it is not much of an obstruction. There is clear plexiglass under the railing, however when we sat down the railing hit exactly at the horizon. You had to sit up very straight or scrunch down to see land. Love watching them load the ship. The cabin was fine. Clean and quiet. Adequate storage. The vanity with the hair dryer was next to the balcony doors and didn't have the shelves above it. We always put our binoculars on those shelves to grab as we go out onto the balcony. Then, the stool to sit on while drying hair or using the mirror for make up was on the other side of the bed by the "desk". Little inconvenient, but not a big deal. Read Less

Cabin# 8018 on deck 8 forward. This cabin is up forward in the ship and has one of the "Enclosed Balconies". It is slightly more enclosed than a regular balcony but we didn't consider this a disadvantage. You get more privacy and it is almost as good as a regular balcony. The room itself was a typical balcony room - abeit slightly smaller than our last ship. Our cabin attendant was wonderful and was in at least 3 times a day to clean. The only disadvantage is that the cabin is located directly above the Stardust Theatre. Occasionally, we could hear the music from the rehersals in the afternoon. Our other observation was when we hit some heavy weather, it was like being inside of a large gong every time we hit a big wave. Again, not for everybody, but we were in the North Atlantic in winter so you have to expect these things. Read Less

Please tell me why the electric outlet in the bathroom is located in the ceiling?? I stupidly grab the rolling stool (while in port) to stand on to plug in my water pik. My electric toothbrush was plugged in by the TV!! The NCL rule is to keep nothing plugged in. My room steward, luckily, never unplugged it. On the last night (after I used the water pik) I stood by my door and grabbed the first person walking by to unplug it. Why is there no decent light in the room. Yes you can see, but not do anything that requires a good light. Also there is no full length mirror that allows you to check yourself before leaving. There is one but the positioning makes it useless. Read Less
