Previous sailing on NCL traveled exclusively on NCL for decades . This was last terrible
Cut out cabin service and had no working toilet for hours. Reservations for speciality dining impossible to get. Lines to speak with anyone at desk long. Entertainment fair. The staff is wonderful but corporate has made so many cuts in past perks and buffet choices that it’s not the NCL I traveled for ...
Day one, check in there was no greeter when entering terminal. We had to figure out on our own that the burly guy loading luggage onto carts was for our cruise. No signs anywhere. We had to ask if this was for our cruise. We gave him our luggage. They did not weigh our luggage so the 50lb limit was not checked. Entered terminal and followed greeters that were inside. Check in was fine and quick. ...
My recent Norwegian cruise to New England and Canada left me with mixed feelings and a deep sense of disappointment. While the picturesque destinations were undoubtedly beautiful, the overall experience was marred by poor customer service and signs of cost-cutting measures throughout the cruise.
Canceled Ports of Call:
The first major setback of our cruise was the unexpected cancellation of ...
We were on the sailing from NYC to Halifax, St John’s, Portland and Bar Harbors. Unbeknown to us there was an Irish Folk Music Festival group on our cruise. It ruined the trip. Many of the venues were closed and night and throughout the day to accommodate the group. Venues that we would have liked to use but were not allowed to. While the majority of the people that we met in the Irish Group ...
I have to echo most of what Thompsonhooisers shared in their review. There was a large Irish folk group, Joannie Madden, which reserved most of the public spaces, therefore closing access to any other passenger. This included many of the bars and the premium spaces on the Waterfront at sunset. Had we been made aware by NCL in advance, we would have changed to a different cruise. There were ...
We chose the cruise because it was going someplace that we haven't been to three times before, not because of the ship. The housekeeping staff was fantastic. With that said, I'm glad this was our 4th NCL cruse for me and fifth for my wife and not our first NCL cr,uise. That's how I know NCL can do better. I've heard lots of complaints about NCL's Garden Cafes. I thought they were all bogus. I've ...
We chose this cruise because the itinerary of cruising upper New England and Canada to view the Fall Colors appealed to us. We are recently retired and have enjoyed cruising with Princess and Celebrity, so we expect to cruise regularly in the future. We decided to give Norwegian a try. Big mistake. Embarkation was disorganized and confused. Once on board the problems and disappointment continued. ...
Returned yesterday from New England 8 Day Cruise. Where to begin with issues. First, our Mini-suite is more like a coffin with a bath, not nearly as nice as RC Jr. Suites. Day 2, locked out of cabin (as were several others on our deck). Guest Services could not resolve keycard issue until following morning causing us to use a credit card to keep the lights on and locked in room overnight. Then, ...
After 18 NCL cruises we decided this was the worst one!
The problem of being on so many cruises with NCL creates an automatic comparison on overall and on particular events. Lets face it the cruise director and his second banana are beginners in training. The design of the Breakaway type ship does not help either. While the epic / pearl type had the Spinnakers for dancing and general use and ...
The ordeal started in port. The boat was six hours late to dock due to tropical storm Dorian...Ok, not much can be done about that except, maybe a heads up from NCL. Too much to ask for I guess. This trip was booked by a cancer foundation as a “wish” for my son who is battling leukemia. To console everyone for the late arrival of the boat, they offered a free bag of chips and a bottle of water. We ...
