Beautiful ship horrible shore excursion team and customer service
"Food was great in the main dining rooms, so so at Buffetts, Osheehans not as good on this ship.Norwegian cruise line should remove her from all of their ships and she should never be able to sail on any cruise ship in my opinion...."Read More

Great Time on a Goofy Ship

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Norwegian Epic

I had an aft-facing balcony on D12 and my nephew was in another cabin close by. First and foremost, we had a fabulous time. The ship is weirdly designed, with inadequate public space. Walkways are too narrow, always felt like you were climbing over people. On pool deck, it was very congested trying to walk along dodging stage, audience, pool, bar, and very tight rows of loungers. I ...

I've mostly sailed in Mexico and Western Caribbean. I've always wanted to do the Western Mediterranean. I found this big ship beautiful and well maintained. Everything was polished and clean. The service was great as always in the restaurants, room service and attendant. We had a balcony room which was slightly smaller than the NCL cruiseships, but the balcony was generous. The twin beds really ...

Lovely ship ! Getting on in Rome was simple . Getting off in Portugal was also quick . Food was great in the main dining rooms, so so at Buffetts, Osheehans not as good on this ship. hotdogs and hamburgers were not edible. All housekeeping dining , guest services staff wonderful and friendly! all except the dreaded shore excursion team! in particular the assistant manager! how on earth is it ...

Our most challenging cruise and trip to date!

Our Most Challenging Cruise and Trip to Date: 22 days from Rome to Israel In November 2019, we had been on a wonderful B2B cruise in the western and eastern Mediterranean on the MSC Grandiosa and the NCL Spirit. We were excited to return to Israel to see more sites and experience history and culture, so we booked the NCL Epic from Nov 3-15, 2022. This 2022 cruise was far more challenging than ...

A mixture of good and bad.

I choose this cruise because of its ports of call, despite my negative overall impression of NCL from a prior cruise (more later). This cruise confirmed my previous nehative impressions but I was more imrpessed with NCL's positives. I think senior NCL execs are making some very poor decisions. My experieince is tempered by the fact I choose a Haven cabin. Haven gives cruises some nice perks, ...

Enjoyable cruise

This was my third time on the Epic and I still enjoy the ship, particularly the comfy chairs on the pool deck by the table tennis tables that don't seem to get discovered by anyone else until the end of the cruise! We were beset with worse weather than normal and this meant that we had to skip Malta, but they turned it into a sea day and added Athens the next day instead. That was an impressive ...

Restaurants well kept, some more luxurious than others. The French and Italian especially nice. The taste restaurant for evening meal and breakfast had good selection of food and service was very good. This year we noted that the ultimate beverage package had changed from last year. Champagne and speciality whiskies were no longer included neither was Cava. This was disappointing, also I drink ...

Hard to Go Wrong on a Mediterranean Cruise

OVERALL B We had a good cruise on a cruise line we had been reluctant to try because of its nickle and diming rep . Some of that was evident and the last minute change of policy concerning carry-on liquids didn't help . However the level of the food and entertainment as well as a great itinerary led to a fine cruise . We would have had a good time visiting these ports regardless of the ship ...

I had not experienced the Mediterranean before so chose this cruise to cross off my list of destinations. I was suitably impressed with the ports of call...especially at seeing Pompeii ! I had no hesitation in choosing Norwegian (my line of choice) based on previous cruises with them....Panama Canal, Alaska, Westen Caribbean, Hawaii. Being a solo traveller, I enjoyed being made to feel special ...

Fun, yet expensive

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Norwegian Epic

User Avatar

The cruise as a whole was extremely fun, but we avoided doing as much as we would have liked because of prices. We only had one drink a day each (there were 2 of us), and the drinks cost about $20 (together) every time we ordered. It was frustrating that we pre-payed the service charges, yet there was gratuity tacked on to every drink order. We didn't even do enough on the ship that would have ...
