Our family just completed a 7-day Western Caribbean Cruise on the Epic, which was also our first NCL cruise. Prior to boarding, I was absolutely terrified having read all of the recent negative reviews. Having completed the cruise, I must say the Epic gets more criticism than it deserves.
Let's start with the bad:
We had a later board time (I was late doing the online check-in), and ...
Mid ship / Deck 9 Balcony Room
Pros:
Excellent / Great food (all beef is angus beef) - never over cooked as we experienced both times on Royal Caribbean. By far the best food on any cruise line we've experienced.
Excellent customer service
No seasickness due to captain/pilot's experience on large swells on last day of cruise
No lines for Starbucks
Cons:
*No place to get away ...
We chose this cruise because of our past experiences with Norwegian. In the past we have been extremely happy with the line. We were not Haven guests on this trip. We also had friends who cruised for the first time and were deciding if they would like this type of trip.
Overall the trip was average to below average WRT service, the room and bed, The cleanliness of the ship, casino prices, and ...
The cruise has a great variety of things to do and always keeps you well fed. There is a main dining hall that has included breakfast, lunch and dinner. There are also ALOT of bars, restaurants and entertainment onboard. Writing this review it is important that i specify we had the "Free at sea package"
Pros-
- A LOT of places to eat and grab a drink
- Entertainment with good music ...
We chose a cruise to go to the Bahamas, Cozumel, Belize, and Rotoan. The itinerary changed three times. First two, changing days around. I was told I now needed a passport to get into Belize so no problem my wife and I spent almost $600 expediting passports. Sure enough, they cancel Belize (the only reason we booked this cruise) and add Costa Maya…fine it happens. Next, they canceled the Bahamas ...
sailed on 1/14/2024 out of port canaveral. This was my first cruise by myself. My friends normally make the cruise plans and tell me what to book. I just booked one of the cheapest cruises within my time frame and went this year alone.
As many reviews have noted, it was at capacity. This was the longest lines I have waited in on any cruise before to get drinks at a bar. You expect it to get ...
I read the reviews and took a chance as some folks just like to complain. Learned my lesson. This is a pretty ship and most of the crew were very good. the only sign of age I saw was rust on our balcony. Everything was kept clean. We LOVED the Beatles show. These are the reasons we would never go back on this ship. I should note that the ship was at capacity and to be fair, some things may ...
The service was definitely lacking on this ship. The adult pool area had one or two waiters that would come around every several hours to take a drink order. Most of the time if you wanted a drink, you had to go wait in a long line to get one. They were very slow to pick up the empty glasses. The big screen in that area played repeat soccer for seven days straight, and the speakers were not ...
This was a last minute cruise. Booked a family mini suite deck 14. The ship was late leaving port on Saturday. Because they were loading heavy equipment and it was windy.
The bar servers that the pool deck were kept busy this week.
We never went to the main dining room. We eat in the garden buffet.
One morning the wife wanted a bowl of cereal, got a box and a carton of milk.
She took a ...
This was a large-scale family vacation - we had 8 people on board, occupying 4 cabins. Of the 8, 4 were newbies to the cruise industry, and 1 had been on 2 prior cruises. For the people in my immediate family, I would qualify us as "seasoned cruisers." In saying this, I mean that we know what to realistically expect, having been on approximately 10 cruises, across all of the major family lines. ...
