Nothing Epic about this ship but the lines
"Due to the delay and the potential that it could grow longer, I called the Norwegian travel number, I wanted to let them know that the flight was late and wanted to know if the transfer would still be there and if the flight was delayed a little longer would the ship wait a bit since Norwegian had booked the air. Before we had even taken off from Tampa, I received an email stating that our connecting flight was delayed over 2 hours, this now set us to arrive in San Juan at 1730hrs, still in time for the ship but I wasn’t sure if there was going to be anyone from Norwegian to be there to get us to the ship, since we had the included transfer...."Read More

Great food; no private areas outside to get away from the noise

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Epic

Mid ship / Deck 9 Balcony Room Pros: Excellent / Great food (all beef is angus beef) - never over cooked as we experienced both times on Royal Caribbean. By far the best food on any cruise line we've experienced. Excellent customer service No seasickness due to captain/pilot's experience on large swells on last day of cruise No lines for Starbucks Cons: *No place to get away ...

Norwegian Business Practices Require Review

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Norwegian Epic

Start with the positives, ship was quite nice, as were accommodations. Staff on the most part were helpful, and food was very good. Now the negative, way too many passengers to appropriately accommodate. Long lines and wait times for shows, drinks elevators etc. Norwegians overall business practices are poor in my opinion. Besides the unreasonable costs for packages such as drinks and specialty ...

Our 7-day Caribbean cruise aboard the NCL Epic was mostly a failure. The only thing epic was all the lines we stood in to see or do anything. Lines to get drinks, see shows, board tender boats, and even the dining had lines. The worst was the 45+ minute wait in line to board a tender boat on the private island to return to the ship, not to mention the lines for drinks and food on the island. ...

Ok but not as good for me as other Norwegian ships

sailed on 1/14/2024 out of port canaveral. This was my first cruise by myself. My friends normally make the cruise plans and tell me what to book. I just booked one of the cheapest cruises within my time frame and went this year alone. As many reviews have noted, it was at capacity. This was the longest lines I have waited in on any cruise before to get drinks at a bar. You expect it to get ...

I read the reviews and took a chance as some folks just like to complain. Learned my lesson. This is a pretty ship and most of the crew were very good. the only sign of age I saw was rust on our balcony. Everything was kept clean. We LOVED the Beatles show. These are the reasons we would never go back on this ship. I should note that the ship was at capacity and to be fair, some things may ...

Not up to par!

The service was definitely lacking on this ship. The adult pool area had one or two waiters that would come around every several hours to take a drink order. Most of the time if you wanted a drink, you had to go wait in a long line to get one. They were very slow to pick up the empty glasses. The big screen in that area played repeat soccer for seven days straight, and the speakers were not ...

Probably my first and last NCL cruise

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Norwegian Epic

After doing two cruises pre-Covid we thought we’d try NCL for the first time. I probably won’t go back. Pros: Food was very good, liked how it sailed out of Puerto Rico (so got to spend a day/night prior to sailing), with the exception of the DR, all ports were great, and felt the ship was generally very clean. Also liked how it disembarked in NYC as the final port, although please read about ...

Not an EPIC failure, but not all roses either

This was our 8th NCL cruise and we selected this one for the Itinerary!! The Itinerary did not disappoint! The EPIC however, is not the typical NCL ship, nor the typical experience we have had on 7 other NCL cruises. First off, service on NCL has always been a high point and fortunately that has not changed. However, despite the wonderful smiles and attentive service, you can tell that the ...

Norwegian Epic Review 7 Day Southern Caribbean Week of 3/12/23-3/19/23 I just returned from a 7 day Spring Break cruise on Norwegian Epic, Here are my thoughts on the trip. I will break it down into a few different categories. I am sorry, but this is a long review. Norwegian Sea-Air Program. Since the ship sailed out of San Juan we used the Sea-Air promotion as it was a good deal to get ...

The OK and the BAD on the Epic

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Norwegian Epic

This was our 5th NCL cruise and 12th overall. I did my research so I knew what I was getting into by choosing this ship but we went for this itinerary as we had never visited the ABC islands. I cancelled the Celebrity Millenium to go on the Epic to save a few bucks and use my CruiseNext deposits. Possibly not the best choice .... Overall, it seemed apparent that NCL is cutting corners. Long ...
