Inaugural trans Atlantic , non stop Southampton, UK to NewYork , USA.
"Basically used as transport from the UK to the Caribbean, we had time to take this trip as part of our itinerary to reach home. Southampton check in -very quick and efficient the only flaw was NCL’s oversight..."Read More

Alaska in October

Review for Norwegian Encore to Alaska

Cruising to Alaska in October was a new experience for my wife and I, so I thought I would share some of our experiences aboard the NCL Encore during the October 2 sailing. This was our 6th Alaska cruise with 4 of them on NCL (Jewel, Pearl, Bliss and now Encore). Voyage: The seas were a bit rough on the first Sea Day and the final Sea Day, mainly due to wind. We were told at Icy Point Strait ...

Ketchikan port

Shocked to pull into port with raw sewage being dumped into the dock area that is also the local junkyard! To make matters worse it's half hour from town! There is a 30 year lease on this port from NCL. Holland America docks in town just steps from Creek St. Other shops as large as ours also dock in town. The EPA will be made aware of this pollution going on in Ketchikan and I urge NCL to ...

We had a cruise planned for May, it was canceled. When I heard they were going to open cruising I jumped on it. We love cruising to Alaska on NCL. This was our 9th time, it's never the same, never know what you will see or what the weather will be. The covid testing wasn't as bad as we expected. Took about 45 minutes from entering the testing building to existing. It seemed to be well ...

Really great job by NCL coming back to cruising. Ship was immaculately clean, staff was excellent. Precruise covid testing went very smoothly, with quick checkin and boarding. Cruise was good .... except for NCL management decision to create two new docks, in Icy Strait Point and Ketchikan. Both not passenger friendly. At Icy Straight, either walk about 7/10ths of a mile up over and down forest ...

From start to finish, this was an overall very enjoyable experience. The Covid testing process took too long, but that was apparently an IT issue with Eurofins (1.5 hours wait in the hall for COVID results). Embarkation was super fast and streamlined. ALL staff was super excited to have us back on board and everyone was super excited. Service was excellent in all venues (except for an ...

So good to get back cruising - Norwegian Encore - Alaskan Cruise

We just got back from a fabulous cruise to Alaska on the Norwegian Encore. This was our 19th cruise - 4th on Norwegian - and 3rd cruise to Alaska. Yes, there were a few hiccups, but for their first official cruise after Covid, they provided an awesome cruise. On the 2nd day, there was a medical emergency and a passenger was picked up by helicopter and flown to a hospital. In order to meet ...

Review summary Our experience with embarkation, and throughout the entire ship was spectacular. With a few communication, adjustments, the ports would have been better. Loved cruising without a mask. Disembarkation wretched! Embarkation We spent the night before in the Marriott and only had to head downstairs for testing. We had a 0930 arrival and were finished with testing and onboard by ...

This was our 17th cruise, our 2nd on NCL. I was really excited when I booked this cruise over a year ago on this new 'amazing' ship, but alas it did not live up to my expectations. Embarkation was fairly fast, we arrived at the port approx. 10:30am and they started letting us board at 11:30, then the race begins. If there are any shows, meals etc. that you want to attend you have to rush to ...

This was our 5th cruise. 4th one with Norwegian. a quick trip to get away from the Candian winter. The ship is big. VERY big... almost too big. I found the ship easy to move around in... easy to find things.. but the pool deck was insane. I had read reviews so knew what to expect... had decided not to buy the package for the VIBE package - thought I could endure it... I could not. each ...

Chose this cruise because we wanted to sail on the new ship. Encore is a beautiful ship but lack of pool space is a serious problem! And to top it off, Vibe now has fee which really is not right, especially because there was never a seat at the pool. We loved Teppanyaki!! The food was outstanding as was Cagney’s! Los Lobos was not very good and the service was terrible. The buffet was always ...
