We chose this Alaskan cruise for several reasons. First we could drive to Seattle for embarkation instead of having to hassle with flying somewhere. We also got an exceptional price for this cruise early on. We also liked the Broadway show lineup of "Kinky Boots" along with many other fine entertainments .....so many choices that we never made it to all the venues we'd like to have ...

Huge disappointment for the first NCL Alaska cruisers

The return to cruising with NCL offered initial excitement until we were waiting in a 2 block long line for pre cruise antigen testing. Good thing it was not raining or that would have made it even more miserable. Cruise critic's editor Aaron Saunders did not quite touch on just how bad this initial experience was. He claimed to have been cleared in 15 minutes after his test. Ours took over 45 ...

More hype than substance overall

Review for Norwegian Encore to Caribbean - All

This was my first voyage with NCL and I chose Encore due to it being a new vessel and even though I have cruised several times before I had yet to sail on a brand new ship and was excited at the prospect. The ship is indeed beautiful but with most things new there were some glitches that need to be worked out and in my opinion, policies that need some fine tuning. For starters too many things had ...

I was anxious to come home and write this review after reading so many negative reviews since encore set sail in November. I can 100% say I don’t know why so many have complaints from this ship. This is my 4th Norwegian Cruise and it did not disappoint. The biggest complaint I read was the pool and lack of chairs. Is the pool a little smaller, yes. Was it full even once, no. Chairs on a 4000 ...

Wanted to get away and spend some time in the sun. Overall I did get some much needed time away and relaxed. There were some amazingly good points about this ship and some not so good moments as with anything. This is an extremely large ship but I was able to find ways to avoid the crazy crowds. The highlight was the Thermal Spa. This is one of the best-kept secrets and well worth the ...

This is my 4th time cruising with Norwegian, 7th time in total. The ship is 3 months old and is new and modern. Really enjoyed the virtual window in my inside solo cabin. The first lunch in the Taste dining room was really nice. The food was fine and the wait staff was kind. My solo cabin was very well appointed, clean with crisp bedding. The food in the dining room was fine even though not ...

Much better than reviews

I was cruising solo(but meeting friends) and Norwegian is smart to offer solo cabins which are private and have their own key entry and lounge. The lounge was misleading as the description leads you to think alcoholic beverages are available which they are not. But... Gratefully, there were not a lot of young kids onboard as we were able to do laser tag and the go-karts with no problem of ...

Amazing Encore

Wanted to experience NCL’s newest ship. She’s a beauty! Ship’s design prevents crowding in popular spots. The Observation Lounge and the Waterfront are favorite spots for relaxing. Dining options are exceptional - Le Bistro is so good we went a second time. Kinky Boots and Choir of Man provided high-quality entertainment. I’m a fan of NCL’s Free-Style cruising so I always choose an NCL ship but ...

Wonderful Maiden Voyage of the ship

The services staff have been the best I have experienced. They were very friendly and attentive. The room design is excellent. We did not have a big room, but it had a lot of "small" area for putting small items, considering that I have two boys with lots of small toys. Even the bathroom has five shelves! It is also convenient to get to any deck and lounges onboard from our room. The number of ...
