"We really liked the Norwegian Encore and would definitely sail on it again., There were a few things that I didn’t care for but I didn’t let it ruin our trip. The chairs on the upper pool level were crowding..."Read More

A great time with a perfect day in Glacier Bay!!!

Review for Norwegian Encore to Alaska

Let me summarize some of the basics. Travel and embarkation. We had our flights booked by NCL and flew in the same day (I know not the best plan). Our flight was booked for 6:00 am landing at 9:00 am in Seattle. I checked the airline schedule, and there were at least 3 other flights that were leaving after ours that would have still been able to get us to Seattle in time, so I was confident ...

Alaska isn't my cup of tea but NCL onboard experience was great

I never had much desire to go to Alaska because I'm not into wildlife viewing or outdoorsy activities. However, I was itching to get back to cruising after 18 months at home and I got a decent deal on this Alaska cruise leaving Seattle 9/25. NCL did a fantastic job with Covid testing, embarkation and disembarkation. All were well organized and efficient. The Encore is lovely but my solo balcony ...

Outstanding Cruise on NCL Encore

Review for Norwegian Encore to Alaska

We just returned from a terrific cruise on the Encore. We have taken many cruises on NCL but really felt that the Encore has raised the bar. It certainly helped that capacity on board was reduced to 2200 passengers with no young children. The passenger to crew ration was close to 1:1 which made for outstanding service. There were never any lines at the buffet or crowding anywhere. There was ...

After having like 4-5 cruises cancelled in 2020. We were booked on the Bliss for the week of September 25th. That cruise was canceled Andy wife found this cruise to Alaska. So glad she did we had a blast. The crew were awesome and nice. I loved how from the lowest crew member to the bridge crew they greeted you each time they saw us. I loved that there weren’t a bunch of kids on this cruise. ...

Another Great Norwegian Cruise

Review for Norwegian Encore to Alaska

After two cancellations over the past 18 months, we finally got to cruise on the amazing Encore. This was our eighth NCL cruise, having been on first the Dawn, followed by the Spirit, Getaway, Escape (three times) and the Bliss. We were not disappointed. First, I will mention the shortcomings. Covid makes getting on board more of a challenge. We tested the day prior to flying to Seattle ...

Vegan Food Review Only

Review for Norwegian Encore to Alaska

Loved the crew and the cruise, however this review is only about the vegan food options on the cruise. There are not many! In the dining rooms, the menus do have vegetarian options marked with a V, however those tended to have a lot of cheese and other dairy and so were not suitable for a vegan. I did find out though that I could visit the dinging room a day early and pre-order a vegan option for ...

Nice way to ease back into cruising

We picked this cruise because our Hawaiian cruise was cancelled and this was a good 2nd choice. We arrived into Seattle 1 night early and stayed at the Hyatt Regency Seattle. We ubered down to Pier 66 and dropped off our bags with a porter. During our NCL online check-in - we picked 11am to show up. We were directed upstairs in the terminal to get our Covid test with Eurofins. The Covid testing ...

You just expect better from Norwegian

We have been Norwegian only cruisers for 20 years. Chose this as our first cruise as a way to resume and get out of the heat. We arrived to Seattle to see 2000 or so people standing in line waiting to be tested before boarding. In Seattle. Where it rains almost every day. Fortunately one of the people (I assume NCL) saw we were not capable of standing that long and took us to the front of ...

A disappointing return cruising.

We could not wait to return to cruising. When Norwegian announced that they would be sailing with fully vaccinate passengers and crew to Alaska, we decided to take the jump. Touring Alaska really excited us. We wanted to see as much as possible in a safe environment. The Norwegian Encore boasts a beautiful modern design. Everything is clean and sleek. The ship is huge, but is easy to ...

Norwegian gave poor information to booked passengers

Choose to remain in the USA on an Alaska cruise. Also am Platinum past cruiser on Norwegian. Our family cruise was ruined because my daughter-in-law was denied boarding at the port. She had submitted her passport, received boarding documents, and had been told everything was OK. She told me she had asked several Norwegian agents if all was ready for her to cruise and was told she had ...
