Since I'm not a total pessimist, let me start with the positives:
- The majority of the crew was fantastic (outside of some rude guest service folks at night).
- The musical entertainment throughout the ship was solid, and so were the magician and comedian.

Great process for embarkation. Smooth and fast
Cabins clean and spiffy.
Cabin Steward was always available but did not need to have him fix any problems with cabin.
Refurb of ship is quite nice. Very evident they spent attention to making inside beautiful
However carpets are showing age in cabin and hallways.
Dining was excellent.

Offered a great deal and good itinerary. Arrived a day ahead in San Juan to sightsee but trollies were being diverted for event but had a nice time exploring locally around hotel. Taxi from Old San Juan to Pan Am Pier was $28. Arrived early to pier and boarded soon thereafter with time to explore the ship. Rooms were ready at 2pm. Had a very nice lunch in Maderno. We took this cruise because many of our NCL crew friends were together on the cruise. We have sailed eleven times on the Dawn. Living in central Massachusetts it is easy to sail out of Boston where the Dawn spent her Spring to Autumn for the last eight years,
This has allowed us to gain many staff friends from housekeeping to entertainers.. We left out of Boston 6 times.

We've been on several cruises, with Norwegian and others, and chose this one for the itinerary. Departing from Puerto Rico has the advantage of being able to hit several islands with only one day at sea, so it seemed a great choice.

We chose this cruise because of it's ports, we came into San Juan same day (which is always a risk) but weather was not a problem, instead if it was a Boeing Jet that was. We fortunately had no problem and trip from SJU via a taxi ($26) was effortless. Embarking the ship was the smoothest ever, we moved along nicely and were on ship quickly.
