We sailed on 11/2/19, we decided to upgrade to the Haven. Big mistake. The up charge was not worth what we received. No priority embarkation, staff at the pier was rude and discourteous, no special service in the room or from the butler. Butler did bring our meals when requested. Room service would have done the same for a fee of $8 per delivery, which is much cheaper than the Haven up charge, only had 4 deliveries through out the week. Asked to have our suit case unpacked, 24 hours later he sent the room steward, by then it was already done. There is no separate Haven area on the Dawn. Basically its a nicer room with amenities. We were directed to eat breakfast and lunch at Cagneys or Moderno. Each had the same menu so it did not matter which you choose. The menu never changed and the selections were boring. Dinner was on us as to where we wanted to eat. We used our specialty dinners for 3 nights and the buffet for the remainder. The buffet did not change at all. Again very boring. Our room steward Siri was wonderful she was pleasant and actually seemed happy to see us and engaged in short, but fun and happy conversations. Our butler never spoke to us but did listen and fulfill our requests, which consisted of food orders. The cruise itself was OK. The embarkation was horrible, we were stalled getting on the ship as it was late getting into port when we were to embark. The disembarkation was also horrible, we decided to have the crew take our luggage, again mistake. I recommend taking your luggage off by yourself or you will be the last off the boat. The trip itself was what I had anticipated, but was very disappointed in the Haven upgrade. Next time will try a ship that has a Haven section, because for us I did not see the return for the investment. Read Less

Bermuda! Not to be. Boring Canada when still green is probably the worst of the worst. No time to research, shore excursions far pricier than original destination, staff was ready to leave for home (like we were). So sad to see many people get off boat when they reached Halifax (where they came from) and Sydney and New Brunsick, and Bar Harbor. I thought the Captain made an easy call and did not consider the passengers and that we literally hung out in our backyards for 7 days. Caught a virus. Food in main dining rooms was excellent. Shows were pretty good. But what a BORE. I could have and would have stayed home but we had absolutely no options nor compensation for this sucky cruise. Why did Escape go South when we did not? Why was Prince Edwards Island offered as an alternative? The passengers were unhappy and NCL could care less as they have offered no compensation for this bad call. We would have been out of Bermuda before Florence hit which it did not and would hardly have affected us since the course did not include any of the states that were hit. AWFUL! Read Less

Our cruise ship was suppose to go to Bermuda. Unfortunately, so was Hurricane Florence. Norwegian Cruise Line made the correct decision to divert our ship to New England and Canada. What a great cruise!! The weather was perfect in the upper 60’s and lower 70’s. The seas were calm and the excursions were plentiful to select from. Halifax, Nova Scotia was amazing. We visited the Fairview Cemetery where 151 victims of the Titanic disaster are buried. Such a humbling experience!!! We also learned about the great explosion in Halifax in 1917. Peggy’s Cove is a must see and great souvenir shopping there. In Sydney, Nova Scotia we enjoyed a very festive live fiddle show. In Saint John, New Brunswick we went to see the Reversing Rapids and learned about the high tide from the ocean pushing back the river!! Beautiful marigolds were planted in the middle of the highway by the school students. Our last stop was in Bar Harbor, Maine. We took a tour to Acadia National Park and Cadillac Mountain. Such a breathtaking view and excellent photo shots!!! To end our day, we ate lobster at the West St. Cafe, highly recommended by the ship and locals!! Oh my goodness, we ended our trip with triple chocolate cake!!! Norwegian Cruise Line took great care of us. I also loved the casino on the ship and all of the delicious meals they served to us!! Could not have asked to be treated any better. Thank you Norwegian Dawn for some of the best memories of my life!! Read Less

The photographer was in a hurry to move lots of people that he didn't even informed us that pictures didn't come out right & let's take it again. The entertainment was very good. overall it was good experience. might try again for different destination. Shore Excursions is waist of money. don't do it. better of buying after you reach to Bermuda. it was much cheaper there. Dining staff & also Garden Cafe was really good. you can do plenty of activities at the cruise. they had programs lined up for all day. We had three children with us & they had a good time. Remember to take lots of pictures by yourself. can't trust their staff for pictures & also very expensive. Read Less

Birthday & celebration The staff on board will exceed your expectations and wow you for every second you are aboard. We were concerned when we booked. Getting help from NCL over the phone was painful. We had help with an outside travel agent who really did the heavy lifting on planning this trip...unfortunately after we booked directly with Norwegian. Once the travel agent from AAA help out....we knew we had a great trip planned. Once aboard...the staff was awesome. Food was excellent and plentiful. Better than the Capital Grill and Legal Seafoods. Loved the entertainment... Julie Barr, Tina Turner Act , Irish comedian show was excellent. We watched the Newly Wed Game with actual guest....very, very funny. JC Sanchez....you had us in stitches!! JC your cruise director had a week of fun, fun and more fun planned 24 / 7 We would book this trip with our friends and family members in a heartbeat. Read Less

We chose this cruise to celebrate our 40th anniversary and to just relax. We did both. It was such a wonderful time. We went to see a bunch of shows Element which which was great. A comedian who was very funny. A juggling comedian who was also great. We ate at Cagney’s steakhouse twice . which is a must . Moderno And the main dining rooms are great too. Did not care for the Buffet .The bands playing at the pool were great to listen to. Embarkation was easy just go where they tell you the lines move pretty quick. Disembarkation don’t keep your luggage. Pick a color it is much better than waiting in the line that goes all over the ship. We did one excursion and that was the glass bottom boat. Worth the 69 dollars . A lot of interesting tips about the island from the captain. Read Less

We loved Bermuda so nice and the ppl are so friendly there. We loved this cruise and are def going to take it again next summer. Best vacation ever. This was our first cruise and we loved it. Would def recommened this cruise escpecially to first time cruisers since there is so much to do and see on the ship and on shore as well. One tip if you want the specialty dining rooms book them at the beginning of the cruise they fill up very fast. By the time we wanted to make a reservation all were booked up. Read Less

We live in western MA so leaving out of Boston was perfect. We were 4 families with 4 children. Took us about 1hr and 45 minutes to get there and as soon as we were on board the party began. At sea we all did our own thing, (trivia, swimming, bingo, exercise, line dance, casino or just relax and maybe read a book). We all got together to have dinner together and went to the shows together which were fantastic! Elements was totally awesome and so were the dancers, singers, comedian and magician. The ship was the perfect size for us. The larger ships have more to do but you need to make reservations when you first board for the shows, if you don’t you might not be able to see them as you would have to check just before the show to see if there is any room. The movie trivia was a lot of fun and the staff did a fantastic job. Read Less

My Mom and I really enjoyed our cruise. The staff on the Dawn were so attentive to my mother, who uses a wheelchair and a cane. I feel like each time we attempted a transfer in and out of her transport chair, someone was there to hold the chair or flip the foot rests up and down, no one was asked, staff just know what to do and don't hesitate to jump in. I read plenty of reviews complaining that the buffet didn't have variety, that the staff in the buffet were miserable, etc. That was not the case! The offerings changed every day. The salad bar had different cold salad offerings every single day, the dinner buffet the first night had a seafood theme, another night they did a Turkey dinner (we did not have it, we dined at Los Lobos that night). The final night there was prime rib. I nominated the entire buffet staff for a hero of the cruise award because they were so attentive and personable. The breads are amazing but the salad dressings are watered down. There are name brand bottled dressings available, use those. The music on board kept us so entertained. Manila Soul performed on the pool deck and in the night club, they are high energy and cover everything from the Beatles to Donna Summer to AC/DC, we loved them. Jamroc was so fun also and Paul Mullins performed lots of Elton John, Billy Joel, Sinatra at Gatsby's. Everyone had a little luck in the casino at one time or another. I did not like the way the craps dealers kept pushing to keep the dice moving, we were trying to teach some people the game, there was no one else playing and there was no reason to be that aggressive and pushy. I did not play craps the final two days because the pit staff just were bossy and pushy. Jerry in the casino will keep you from going thirsty, great cocktail service. My mom was in very good hands with Dorotea in the salon and I was able to enjoy a hot stone massage with Richelle, just delightful. The day pass for the spa is $50. The thermal loungers are the most magnificent things ever! Le Bistro was very good and the best cup of coffee on the ship. Our favorite meal was at Los Lobos, the ambiance was colorful and mom raved about the red snapper. The Mexican rice however was straight out of a Zatarains box, oversalted and gross. Tres Leches cake was off the hook delicious. We dined at Venetian one meal and it was inedible. We are really not picky eaters. Both of our entrees, lasagna and roasted lamb, were inedible. The coconut lime souffle was terrific. We did not return to the Venetian and never tried Aqua. Read Less

I like to write my review right away so everything is still fresh in my mind. I was travelling as a single parent with two friends who are also single parents. Our kids are different ages (12, 15, and 18.) There is something for everyone on this cruise. It’s a small ship, so no big climbing walls, zip lines, etc. We all had an amazing time. Our cruise was over the 4th of July and the ship was at full capacity. I did the same cruise a couple of years ago with less people in late August. Although it seemed crowded at times around the pool, it was amazing. I learned a few things that I would do differently next time we go. We signed up to go again with a great program Norwegian has because we loved it so much. We did not get the internet package – no phones, no internet, no snapchat, Instagram, Facebook. So, if you travel with other families (on not) it’s great to bring a small white board to stick on your door so you can leave messages the old fashion way. When you’re in port there are plenty of places to get free Wi-Fi to update friends and family. The Bermuda Information center has free Wi-Fi, you can sit on the bench outside and access it. We found it nice to be “off the grid for a couple of days.” DINING: There is so much food. I did not go to any specialty restaurants, but my friend went to some and said they were great. I made reservations for our party of 6 at Aqua and Venetian online for our days at sea. Once you are on the ship the main dining times are not open to make reservations at the complimentary restaurants. We did not have to wait in line for any of our dinners, and were seated right away b/c we had reservations. If you plan dinner reservation online you can only schedule Aqua and Venetian. Bamboo (Asian Fusion) says no reservation required. However, you can make a reservation the day you want to dine there once you are on the ship. It usually has a big line so make a reservation in the morning on the day you plan to dine there. Make sure to go to the Venetian for breakfast at least once. It’s mostly the same food as the Garden Buffet, but so nice to have five-star service, and some special menu options. ENTERTAINMENT: Go to every show. The performances are great. If you’re not that interested, at least make sure to go the Elements performance. It is the best show you will see at sea. It’s Broadway meets David Copperfield, and Cirque du Soleil in one amazing show. EXCURSIONS: Book most on your own. You can get to Horseshoe Bay on bus or shuttle. Public bus is great way to see island if you want to see lots of places in one day. Or buy tokens at the Bermuda Info. Center. The cruise excursion to Horseshoe Bay is $45/pp. – Just walk off ship and you can get $7 one way or $14 rt. (per person.) You must see Horseshoe Bay - there are tons of shuttle buses, so pay one way and when you are ready to leave pay the other $7. Most everyone on the Norwegian Dawn does everything they can to make sure you have the best vacation. Of course, there may be things you are not 100% happy with; overall you make what you want of your vacation. We loved it. Read Less

We weren't sure that our teenager would have enough to do on the cruise and not convinced that she would join in with the Entourage group without knowing anyone. We were totally wrong. She never wanted to leave and is still in contact with the group. The Director really knew how to get the kids socializing and planned great activities for them. That opened up more opportunities for the adults to participate in different games like Yes or No, see all of the shows, try Mojito tastings and Pamper Classes, etc. The activities for teenagers didn't start until later in the day so we didn't have to pry her away from them to at least spend some time with us. The entertainment was great, there were lots of choices for dining and plenty of places for quiet reading in the sun or shade. Bermuda is lovely and it was great to have just one stop for an few days because there's so much to do and see. We went to two beaches, the Crystal Caves, took a sunset Catamaran cruise, went snorkeling, had a nice lunch and went shopping and sightseeing in Hamilton. Read Less

This was our first time on the Dawn, and it more than met our expectations. We wanted to go to Bermuda, but not on the bigger ships. We have sailed many other NCL ships, (Starward, Magesty, Norway, Jewel, Gem and the Sun. We never were disappointed in the service food or entertainment. We live near NYC, and when looking for a cruise to Bermuda, the only choice we had was the Escape. We did not want to sail the big ship, so we chose to drive to Boston and booked the Dawn. Well the Dawn is in a class by itself. The ship is older, but the Captain has made sure that she is beautifully maintained' The staff is unbelievably attentive, and they look like they really work as a team. We met many Bostonians who have sailed her many times to Bermuda and have only good things to say. Many that we met said that they were sad that she will be going to New York next year, and will miss her and the staff. The entertainment was outstanding. Patti and Jose was very talented musicians, and they plan to stay on the Dawn. Dave Dingo, Cruise Director does a great getting people excited about the events of the day.The comedians, Julie Barr, and Harry O'Donoghue keep us in stitches. Harry is an Irish comic, who plays and sings Irish favorites. Chris Burke and the dancers gave great performances. The high light was Elements, a award winning production show. We took a 3 hour Catamaran Cruise and Snorkel on the Restess Native, gave us a chance to swim and snorkel in beautiful Bermuda waters. Great crew and would do it again when we return to Bermuda. On the last day we took the ferry to Hamilton and had lunch at the Hog Penny, nice service and good food. It's one of the oldest restaurants in Hamilton. Deciding to drive to Boston from Long Island was a good decision. Parking was easy, the Dawn more than met our expectations, and we loved sailing with Bostonian's I can say ParRk the CaR i HaRvaRd Squar with a Boston accent. Read Less

My Band, The Reminisants played on this cruise. We've done 15 Bermuda Cruises. From Day 1 to Day 8 it was by far the best for us, our families and our friends. Norwegian has stepped up their game, Service and food wise. The Dawn is clean, well organized and fun. In the past Norwegian had ESPN on TV. They have one sports channel but with both NBA and NHL finals going on and baseball season it doesn't enable sports fans to keep up. The food was very good and the availability outstanding. Their 24 hour restaurant, O'Sheehan's was excellent. Service in all food locations was terrific. The ship is a perfect size. You can get where you want to go easily. The are plenty of good working elevators throughout the ship. On a personal note I need to thank Revan, our sound and lighting engineer who made all our performances go on without a hitch. Lastly to the representatives from The Cruise Brothers, who were always there for us all the guests that we brought. Everyone had a great time. Same time next year, May 31st. 2019. We took a cruise from Boston to Bermuda. The cruise ship was the Dawn. There were some positives like the nightly show and Bermuda itself. The staff was over and beyond and they would get 5 stars from me. The reason my rating is so low are the reasons below. 1) Food. Everything we ate was mediocre. People say that the add on restaurants are better but, we tried those too, and had way better food at home. When paying $400 a day, you expect the food to be better than cafeteria quality. 2) The pool area. There is one small pool for 2,000 guests. So, you can guess it - it’s overcrowded. We didn’t get to use the pool for this reason. 3) Smoking. People can smoke anywhere outside and also in the casino and in the cigar bar inside. This means that there is smoke everywhere on the outside deck (including by the pool) and that you can’t sit at Gatsby’s bar because of it’s proximity to the cigar bar if you don’t want to smell smoke. Also, we wouldn’t even walk through the casino because it was a constant cloud of smoke. We would have loved to gamble but, it wasn’t an option for us for that reason. 4) Entertainment. Aside from the stellar shows at 7 or 9 PM, we struggled to find actual entertainment on board. They would have towel folding seminars or cake decorating that would simply be opportunities for them to sell you something. During the day, the entertainment was that of which you’d find in a retirement home. 5) Cable. NCL advertises that they have cable on board. They simply have a few channels that tell about their ship, three news stations, one popular tv show station and two movies stations. Unfortunately, the tv and movie stations repeat the same movies and episodes every day. We saw the same things over and over. Read Less

This was my first cruise ever. Went with two of my friends and my girlfriend. We traveled to Bermuda from Boston. Didn't know what to expect. Ship: The Norwegian Dawn is a big and beautiful ship with lots of things to do on-board. Rooms: We stayed in an inside cabin and loved it. It is comfortable and very clean. Got a lot of good sleep. Room sturits are very friendly and nice. Our friends had a balcony room and it was awesome. Spent more time in their room because of the view. Nice to relax on the balcony. Food: Can be a hit or a miss. Some restaurant are unbelievable and others are not so much. Bought a 3 dinner package and was disappointed by couple places we went to. Bamboo is an Asian food restaurant, thought it would be good but boy were we disappointed. Not worth it at all. Went to Cagney's Statehouse and were very disappointed in the service. Our steak wasn't cooked the way we ordered. DO NOT EAT ANY OF THE SOUPS. Los Lobos is a Mexican restaurant and it is amazing. Get the Guac! Our server named "Faruk" is the guy you want. He will tell you how it is and will not disappoint. We put our trust in his hands and he kept bringing us delicious foods and drinks. Hands down the best servant we have ever had. Venetian is great for breakfast and lunch. We had a server named "Diaz", we was very good. Good assortment of food. Bimini Grill by the Oasis pool has awesome burgers and drinks. Aqua is a great place for dinner. Le Bistro is a French restaurant which we saved for last. We were blown away by the service and the food. Everything was so delicious. Service was outstanding. The Garden Cafe which is a buffet, has a great variety of food for everyone. Everything was clean and food was fresh. There are a lot of restaurants that you can go to. Trust me, you will gain some weight. Gained 10lbs myself. Crew: Crew is great. These guys make the whole experience that much better. They treat you as if you own the ship. They are there to help with anything you need. Definitely are understated. They go above and beyond to make sure you have what you need and that you are happy. Entertainment: There are always things going on all the time. Acrobatics, comedy, music, movies, games, and trivia. Cruise Director: Are very helpful and make it easy for everyday plan. Excursions: Something for everyone of any age and ability. Makes Great Memories. Enough time in port for excursions and shopping. Did the glass bottom ferry tour and it was awesome. Cool to see different fish, coral, ship wreck, and $3 Rum Swizzles. Beaches are beautiful and clear. Locals are very friendly and helpful. Lots of places to shop around. Did a jet ski tour out of Somerset Bridge Water Sports 441-236-7758. Had an awesome time. Harry Patchett was our tour guide. Was really nice and made the tour fun. Was lot of fun doing 45mph on the water. Bermuda: Lots of things to do and enjoy. If you are looking for a taxi then Shaun, P. Tucker is your guy. Was awesome and very informative. Took us to the beach we wanted to see, but there wasn't much there. Shaun told us he will take us to an awesome beach. We drove around half the island. he told us about the history. Dropped us of at clear water beach. We spent 3-4hrs there. He came back later and picked us up. Was a great guy. Tucker's Taxi Service Cell:441-336-9674 or email: shaunp@logic.bm Trip was very relaxing for sure. No worries at all. No cooking, no cleaning, no kids, drinks available everywhere..."get the booze package" you're welcome. Overall had an amazing experience especially for being a first timer. There are lots of things to do and explore. Lots of restaurants with lots of variety. Had a great company and made some new friends. Will book again for sure. Read Less

One person in our party was offered a cruise from the casino we took the offer and upgraded. Spoiled ourselves on the 1st cruise experience with a Family Suite with balcony. The Boston to Bermuda cruise had lots to do, or you could do nothing. Restaurant service was good and everyone was friendly. The food was good and plenty. The morning and lunch crew at Cagneys were super friendly and easy going. The ship floor plan was somewhat confusing, mostly aft, and took a bit to get acquainted. Enjoyed walks around deck 7. Utilized the free gym (some classes were for a fee) and thermal spa package. Somewhat disappointed that the hot tubs didn't have real jets to work on my back. I was the only one with a smartphone and utilized iconcierge on my phone (their free onboard app) which came in handy to see activities for the next few days, nothing from menus though so I took photos of those. After the 5th cruise with NCL we will no longer cruise with others cruise lines. Upon the Norwegian Dawn from Boston we had attentive staff, good accommodations and food options every day, good entertainment, varied activities, etc. We ate dinners multiple times during the week at the Aqua & Venetian restaurants and the staff were great and the food was amazing! The options were good...my only suggestion would be a more varied fowl (chicken) dish option on the menu for those that are not red-meat or seafood eaters...with that being said the rotisserie chicken option was amazing and the portion was a meal & a half. The wait staff were great throughout the ship and the entertainment was very good also. I'd suggest better timing of the art auctions and biggest critique is saying an art event to name the winners of a contest is at 1pm but then it didn't occur until the end of the 2 hours event (1-3pm), so that was disappointing. Overall, a great experience from embarking to the return! The free NCL tender from the dockyard to St Georges port was GREAT...get there early! "Cruise Like A Norwegian!" Read Less

The only issues we had were with the Iconcierge app being terrible and the Deal or No Deal game being terrible. Other then that just an amazing time! Love the energy of the crew and how they take care of not only our happiness on the trip but also being super clean and professional. This was our 3rd cruise and the 2nd on the Dawn. I brought my daughters this time for their 16th birthday present and they had never left the country or been on a boat. They are hooked and are already begging to go again as a gift for their graduation! As a first time cruiser I really enjoyed my time on the Dawn. The staff was all really wonderful! The food and entertainment were also great! Since we were at sea for the majority of the trip, the pool area was always busy. It was pretty easy to get chairs, and the entertainment at the pool was always fun to watch. The servers at the pool weren't great though, we often had to seek them out to get a drink! Getting on and off the ship in Bermuda was super easy and super fast. Everyone was friendly and welcoming both on and off the ship. The biggest downside for me is that they allow smoking in the casino, which is inside the ship. That meant that almost that whole floor smelled of smoke, and you had to walk through the casino to get to some of the entertainment. It was very disappointing to have to deal with that. Read Less

It was an easy access for us out of Boston and the service was very good. The entertainment excellent. We were able to enjoy wonderful food in the Venetian, and Le Bistro. The staff were very attentive. It was like a Resort on the water. This was a very reasonable trip. I would say cost of things such as bingo cards very excessive $39++. I would suggest that although there was sufficient signage I believe much of our time was spent finding our way around. Having more diagrams of the ship from “you are here” and a large diagram of the ship in our room would have been extremely helpful. I would like to see more formal dining experiences offered..a very dresss up night. The dance floor/area concisited of moving between tables on carpeted floor in the Atrium area. Seating in the Atrium very limited on the main floor. There was only about 20 little tables and seating limited. During several shows one had to sit in metal folding chairs. The pool area and available lounge chairs very generous. The pool was not heated and the weather fair so a heated pool would be a big advantage during the early summer sails. We were never offered drinks by the pool as on other ships. We saw very few wait staff offering beverages. Read Less

This was our first time on the new "Norwegian Dawn" since the "refurb"-so have nothing to compare from before. We loved it very much.Found it to be very colorful, very friendly easy to manoeuver around once we found our bearings. We always take the first day to go around all the areas of our likes before settling down on any one area. The casino was great had a lot of more modern machines and the service was excellent for us.My husband is a good tipper so we are always treated well.It didn't hurt that we also had very good luck as well..The entertainment in the theatre both venues were first rate. There had been a standing ovation for both shows.Food and drink are always good on Norwegian since we have the "UBP"it is much easier now at the bars.We tried the "Sunset" boat excursions around the Hamilton Coastline, they too were first rate. Those rum cruises are not chinzy at all.Alot of fun and kept the mood going..Even though the weather was very cool, maybe 65-68 degrees at night, that didn't dampen our spirits at all.We loved Bermuda and maybe thinking of returning at an other time to go to the other side of the island to see St.Georges,we hear that's quite a nice place as well. The music and bartenders in the Atrium were also great and always in a good mood. Read Less

The ship is beautiful, and the staff is so friendly and helpful. There were plenty of on board activities throughout the week. The entertainment staff keeps you on your toes and laughing through the entire week, the shows and performers were all amazing. We dined at the Venetian, Aqua, and Bamboo The food was delicious, sometimes it took a bit for us to get our food after ordering however we also went at busy times .Restaurant staff was friendly and attentive. We ended our nights at Bliss Lounge and enjoyed the fun there. The DJ played some of the same songs night after night, but we still had a ton of fun. The only thing we didn't like was the pool deck area was taken over by children a lot of the time, and the hot tubs would have been much more enjoyable if there wasn't many children in them. My family alway's wanted to do a family cruise, and since my wife and I were celebrating our 25th Wedding Anniversary we thought it would be perfect having our children there with us. Well we left Boston and headed into the Bermuda Triangle on Friday the 13th of April 2018, the weather was perfect, we (my wife, 3 children, and daughter's boyfriend) were very excited for the vacation of a lifetime. Everything was smooth leaving Boston, everyone in port, and on the ship was so helpful. We are so excited to start making this very special journey, if we had only known what awaited us. "Turning back the clock" I so needed this vacation, a couple weeks ago prior, my wife and I went to our friends Wedding in Las Vegas. The morning after the Wedding I received a phone call that my Best Friend passed away in Florida. My wife and I came back too Massachusetts, put our child on the school bus. I kissed my wife goodbye and flew to Florida. While at the funeral in Florida I received a message my beloved Aunt had just Passed away. I called my brother to inform him about our Aunt; he informs me that our dispatcher had not showed up for work and was found in her apt. R.I.P. Just when you think it can't get any worse I find out my oldest brother's daughters son had passed. Okay enough!!! All I can think about is that commercial where a couple is laying on the beach relaxing with a drink, a single cloud passes overhead and the comment: Yesterday was so much better! My wife and I needed that! Ok, our first day in Bermuda I'm emotionally and physically too exhausted to do anything. That night we kissed our kids goodnight (kids shared another room on the ship), so we thought. As I was about to shut off the light I got a knock on the door; it's my oldest son. he has a towel saturated with blood saying he had just chipped his tooth. Looking him over I noticed scrapes all over him. I asked my son: Ok, how the hell did you chip your tooth in your room? His reply: I rented a motorbike earlier in the day and decided to take a ride with my brother. OMG!!! Where is he? (thinking the worst)! His reply: back at the room. Younger brother was just scraped up; my wife gave my oldest daughter a first aid kit, and had her tend too my youngest son. My wife, oldest son and I went to the ships E.R. where he was x-rayed. His jaw was broken and fractured. So the ships medical facility wrapped his head with bandages to avoid any further damage. We went to Bermudas only Hospital by ambulance, we experienced Bermudas "way of doing things". Long story short, my sons jaw was wired shut. He now eats though a straw. All medical expeensives were paid upfront, maxing out all our credit cards. We did spend the rest of our time traveling to medical appointments on the island (taxi rides one way was $45 before tip). The Chefs on the ship were awesome, they were able to blend my sons food for the trip back home. As for me, the company I work for understands the debt I recently acquired, and is helping me. I now work 7 days a week. No matter the obstacles of Life...I still love my Wife! Read Less

Easiest cruise ever. We drove to Boston, parked on the pier, and walked onto the ship. A little concerned about the days at sea, but the shipboard entertainment was excellent and the food and drink was plentiful, so the days at sea were very enjoyable. The piano man, Jose and Patti, the pool area activities, and of course the shows in the Stardust Theater were the best. Bermuda was very nice. We loved walking around St. George’s. Took the local bus to Hamilton, which was not very touristy. Spent a day walking around the Naval Dockyard area and going in the shops and mall. Went snorkeling at Horseshoe Bay Beach which was very nice. Beautiful sandy beach and warm water (mid 70’s) to swim in. Glass bottom boat ride into the Bermuda Triangle at night was very fun. Went over a shipwreck and saw marine life. Onboard our butler, Henry, was great. Our cabin was always made up perfectly. Overall a great trip! Read Less

I am very loyal to Carnival Cruise Lines because their service, food, entertainment, and itineraries are consistently outstanding. The last time (before this cruise) I cruised Norwegian was back in 2003. I was thoroughly disappointed with the service, the plasticware on the top deck cafeteria, and the stateroom not being made up until 2:30 in the afternoon, if made up at all during the day. I WON this cruise at a local Casino and decided to see if the cruise line had made any improvement over the past decade and a half. So, I booked the room and even though Hurricane Irma was going strong, they notified us that we were definitely heading to Bermuda. I was pleasantly surprised. The Embarkation went smoothly and quickly. The staff was friendly on land as well as on the ship. Overall, we ended up having a blast and the Service in the stateroom and dining rooms was superb. We had smooth seas and 85+ degree temperatures. Smooth sailing upon our return as well. No longer is plasticware the norm in the Garden Cafe, but silverware IS. The keep it on each individual table. The Entertainment was excellent. Musicians in all ensembles were professional and sounded great! They have LIVE MUSICIANS in most of their Stage Productions as well. We truly enjoyed all shows. The Fitness Center had decent equipment, though it was difficult to locate on the first day. The Elliptical machines were challenging, and there were only 3 exercise bikes available. The Casino was very good to us Blackjack players, though expect a smoky atmosphere if you're planning on staying for a while. The food was average at best. Everything we ate was either "just ok" or dry. The ONLY entree that was palatable was the the Prime Rib. THAT was done to perfection. Most offerings were quite salty, from soups to entrees. Our Servers was consistently professional The BATHROOMS in the stateroom are luxurious and large. There are sliding door to separate the sink from the toilet and shower. Smart design. The remainder of the room is tiny. TV selections are poor. There are 2 movie channels, a news channel, and one "TV Station" that showed mostly cartoons. Overall, we had a blast! SERVICE was EXCELLENT. Will definitely consider cruising with Norwegian again..... and maybe not even wait 15 years to do so! Read Less
