The itinerary and weather were superb. But what make it 5 stars was the excellent level of service. It brought me back 10 years from when I first started cruising. Ncl must have focused on service because I noticed the difference. There was plenty of cheerfulness and attentiveness.
The food was great. There were a few more choices and I couldn't complain about any dish.
The ncl shore ...
I read some reviews before this trip, as it was our first NCL, (We are mostly HAL cruisers.) Many were relating dissatisfaction. Was pleasantly surprised to experience none of those bad reviews.
Whole process of embark/disembark was smooth and trouble-free.
Some highlights: Good food in dining rooms and buffet. Room clean and bright. Excellent entertainment. Times of 7 and 9 are better than ...
I have chosen this cruise due to having good experiences on most of NCL ships, and it left from NYC which was good for me. 2 days we both wanted to take a shower and no water for showering. The last morning very early only cold water for a shower. Note: in order to get warm water the left dial had to be on 50, yes 50. 30 something shows red for danger. At times while taking a shower the water got ...
I was asked to join cruise when one of the participants became ill. I am retired as are the others and had no previous plans so timing was not an issue. The ship is beautiful but not as large as others. I will say that there is not enough activities to participate in on at sea days, I mean how much bingo can one play? The food was adequate, nothing special. I will say that they are very attentive ...
Food was mediocre at best, Buffet served virtually the same food every day, Cabin door rattled constantly and the closet drawers wouldn't stay closed. False & misleading advertising regarding their "free offers." Security was nonexistent: bands of teens (4-6) terrorized some passengers. # African Americans (2 women + 1 man) and 1 Hispanic male were surrounded, physically threatened and insulted ...
Let me start by disclosing that this is a fairly lengthy review, which I would loved to have had before we left. Bear with me please.
There were some very nice things about the Norwegian Dawn, its crew and our experiences you should know about. There are also some things to be critical of as to our destinations, the time of year we chose and the excursions we experienced as well. It is ...
This was our 8th trip on Dawn so we are very familiar with her! We booked this cruise after an injury this summer forced us to cancel a transatlantic cruise. The itinerary was appealing - we love the ABC islands and honeymooned on St. Lucia. Grenada and Barbados were new to my husband so it was a go!
The Dawn is a "right sized" ship. Not too big and not too small. In addition we love Cellars, ...
The boat was nice and clean and decorated well. Decor was modern and not as busy as some boats can be. Our room was clean and bathroom was largest we have had on a cruise. Center area of bathroom had sink and vanity and to right was shower with a sliding door, and toilet area had a sliding door as well.
The food quality was very good. The buffet food was good, but set up could be better as ...
The embarkation went fine. I really appreciate the encouragement of hand hygiene! The shuttle guide waited for my wife because I our plan was delayed 45 minutes. That made us feel valued as customers. The communication from the ships directors were clear in both English and Spanish. The officers were very respectful and courteous. The restaurant staff was simply amazing. Always given a smile when ...
wanted a short cruise and have always loved Norweigan and recommend it to others.
This cruise offered very little in entertainment, things to do were lame (such as games).
Found the elevators in the morning with spilled drinks and food not cleaned up. Our mini suite was a dissappointment, old.
Our steward was great, kind to two older retired people, always helpful!!!
The excursion in ...
