Cabin was a handicap room. Good size and configuration. Looking out the window you could easily see the ocean and a decent view. Getting close to the window and you saw the lifeboat was right below window level and you were looking through it to the ocean. Still, the view was great, better than porthole by a lot. And we didn't plan on staying in the room that much anyway. If we wanted or needed more we would have gone for a balcony room. Cabin Steward was Eugine Rodriguez. He was very nice and took good care of us. Room was midship and very conveniently located to the O'Sheehans Pub on one side and the aft elevators on the other. We brought a magnetic Olaf and put him on the door. Had a great time with people rearranging the pieces from day to day. Others got a kick out of watching it, too.

We did not receive our luggage until 8 pm the first night we arrived (we boarded the ship around noon). The AC was not working the entire time we were onboard. When we called for someone to take a look, the repairman told us that although no air was coming out, the temperature in the room was suitable enough to sleep in- it felt like we were in a sauna at night. Very small cabin for three people; only one outlet in the room. On a positive note: the housekeeping staff was diligent and timely when cleaning our room in the morning and in the evening.

Avoid if you are really wanting to see out. There are only two small slits in the wall, overlooking a lifeboat.

Fun Cruise on the Dawn By: sbachleda
Our cabin was spacious with plenty of storage space. The cabin was quiet and nicely decorated . Beds were comfortable. We had an obstructed view but it was better than expected since we booked a guaranteed inside cabin. So a cabin with a bit of wire and part of a lifeboat winch blocking a small part of the window was a big upgrade. Our cabin steward was very friendly but seemed new to his job as he did not notice when things were needed or missing from the bathroom. No problem getting them we just asked. Only one 110v outlet though in the cabin so if you need to charge stuff you have to do it one at a time.

This stateroom is really only meant to accommodate 3 people. They will sell it to you as accommodating up to 4 but you will have a 4th bed put up making your room wall to wall bed. Being on deck 4 forward you can really hear the ship moving through the water mainly at night when trying to sleep. It was not a problem for our group but could be an issue for others.

A-Okay By: jdub0319
We booked an obstructed view cabin, mid-ship, starboard side. It was a decent size, with two small windows obstructed by the lifeboats. I was most impressed with the size of the shower in the bathroom. It's probably the largest shower stall I've ever seen across RCCL, CCL, and NCL. I also noticed the sliding partition door for the toilet area, however we couldn't use it because it would fall off its tracks when you tried to close it. I almost got stuck and my fiance had to bail me out. There is plenty of storage in the stateroom. Once we were unpacked, I still had so many compartments left empty. Our stateroom steward, Robin, was quite friendly and helpful. Early in the week we did have an issue with our toilet not flushing, and later in the week we had an issue with the safe not opening. Robin took care of the issues immediately (notifying the appropriate departments and getting the issues resolved) and then following up to make sure the issues were corrected and nothing else was wrong.

Bermuda rerouted to Bahamas By: bostonredsoxfans
Deck 8 - cabin 8592: The room was an outside obstructed view cabin on NCL. I chose this since I didn't feel my usual balcony choice was worth the price on the Dawn, and was quite glad I didn't get the balcony as we had more room in our OBX stateroom, than our friends did in their balcony due to the set up of the twin beds in both our rooms. Since this was a "girls cruise" we had the twin bed set up rather than the full bed, as I do when traveling with my husband. The bathroom was odd, and there was barely any room where the toilet sat...as it was wedged into a "water closet" type of bathroom. Since I am 5'9" tall, my knees essentially hit the wall when using the toilet and that was without attempting to close the "somewhat see-through" sliding door to the water closet. If you don't know what a water closet is...it is when they enclose the toilet section with a privacy door but it is still within the bathroom assuming people can be using the toilet privately, while others can use the sink area. This wasn't the case in this bathroom. We also had a terrible gushing-water sound all the time from the wall behind the toilet, but luckily when the bathroom door was closed tight at night, we were able to sleep. Twice we had to call maintenance to help - first when the toilet was extremely slow flushing (you pushed the flush button, but it didn't flush for about 2-3 more minutes). Then when the shower didn't drain and flooded the floor of the bathroom. They did come quickly to fix it but I have since found out that other friends have had the same issues on this ship on different cruise weeks and decks.
