With enough room for up to six people, these Penthouses are perfect if you want to bring the whole family. Includes a living area, dining area, separate bedroom with queen-size bed as well as a separate children's bedroom and a large private balcony so you can all enjoy the amazing view. Includes butler and concierge service.
Good location and loved adding the cabin next to us to connect making it a three bedroom. Plenty of storage and closet and having the second bathroom was a huge help when everyone was trying to get ready for things. Would definitely do this two bedroom configuration again on future cruises. The second bedroom is small but just make sure the cabin steward puts the lower bed up every day to the couch so kids can sit and watch TV easier. It is a very private place for the kiddos! 2 bedroom Family Suite was well suited for the three of us. The large master bed-bath was nice for the two of us while our third travel partner enjoyed having her own separate space for sleeping and dressing. We previously cruised in an SF penthouse and she was not as comfortable with the bathroom arrangements, she felt this was much better. The main room was large enough for the three of us to move around, eat, drink, read, watch TV etc. The deck had two loungers and a small table, while adequate, it did not compare to the one from our SF Aft Penthouse. The dining chairs were covered with dust when we arrived. Requested they be cleaned and it was done. Otherwise clean enough. Spacious suite with a great bathroom and large balconey. Read entire member review >>
The best review for this suite is a youtube video - search on youtube for "G7zh_muN2_w" (with a title of "Norwegian Dawn 2 bedroom family suite Category SC"). It is spacious (two-bedroom, two bath), with plenty of closet space, dining area for 4, jacuzzi-type bathtub, shower with full-length window, two sinks in the master suite. There are a total of 4 TVs in the suite (one in living room area, one in each of the bedrooms, and a 4th in the master bath suite). The living room TV has a DVD player; it has other HDMI inputs, as well, if you bring your cables with you. It has the standard Lavazzo coffee maker (with coffee pods). The only complaint would be the size of the balcony... with the size of the chaise lounges, you can't really recline to 180 degrees unless you place them parallel to the railing. With more than 2 people in the suite, it might be crowded out there. LOCATION: I chose this location because (a) it's below the family suites on deck 12 WITHOUT balconies, so there isn't a 3-4 extension of the roof over the deck 11 balcony (which is the case with rooms starting after about 11020 and aft); also, I chose 11010 because it doesn't open into the elevator/stair area -- it's in a hallway that leads to the bridge, so foot traffic is very light. Great cabin with a decent second bedroom. The furniture was in good condition. All of the carpets were very clean. The cabin has 4 TVs total, one in the living area, one each in the bedrooms, and one in the master bath. There were super large towels in the master bathroom the size of beach towels. The master bed was extremely comfortable. They automatically put a foam topper on the bed in the smaller bedroom which makes it nice. We did not use the butler or concierge much as we are low maintenance but they were both easily available and checked on us. There is an outlet in both the master bathroom right next to the door to the living area and in the second bedroom near the bed. That made it easy for each of us to recharge our Nooks and cameras. The 2 lounge chairs on the balcony were newer since we cruised 2 years ago on this ship and much nicer and more comfortable. The master shower is wonderful with a full waterfall shower head, jets at waist level, and a hand held shower. There are 3 knobs so you only use the ones you want or all 3 if you wish. The 2nd bath has a nice size shower with a door. There are 2 safes so you can store more items or in our case, each of us had our own safe. Storage is good all over the cabin. A variety of snacks were brought in each afternoon ranging from chocolate dipped strawberries twice, sandwiches, typical canapés, and cake and cookies. You could ask for special stuff but we just let the butler bring whatever was on for the day. Read entire member review >>
This 2 bedroom family suite is great. The bedroom is a secluded oasis. The master bathroom is large, with an awesome ocean view shower and jetted tub.
There is a 2nd small bathroom, which is so handy. The 2nd bedroom is small, but would be good for small children. My husband and I were alone, so it served as a walk-in closet and dressing room.
Loads of storage through out the cabin.
Furniture could be a bit updated and there were minor signs of wear and tear. The in-room espresso machine is a great treat.
The balcony had cushioned lounge chairs, which we took advantage of. Read entire member review >>
Cabin is great as usual. Took about 5 days to get them to clean the deck plastic windows so we could see out of them. We didn't start asking until we knew all the storms were done. Above you is a lot of moving of carts or chairs so at times it gets a little noisy. Read entire member review >>
Our favorite cabin. We prefer it over the Owners Suites because of the fabulous bath with a view of the ocean from tub and shower, and because we can stow our 'stuff' in the 'kids bedroom'...and it gives us a second bathroom. The only problem is that for some odd reason, the Dawn which was made for US market cruising and was delivered to NYC in 2002, has only European style plugs in the room. They put a 'cheater' in a bathroom outlet, then ran a long, white, ugly extension cord across the living room to accommodate charging iPhones, laptop, and also so I could keep my Kindle charged. It's a clunky solution. Read entire member review >>
We stayed in a huge Penthouse Suite with floor-to-ceiling windows in our shower and hot tub. Truly amazing!
But this ship is tired and it shows. Water buckets collect dripping water everywhere you go. Our couches and chairs were stained, worn and threadbare...
A cigarette stain the second bathroom was pretty ugly to say the least...we don't smoke! Read entire member review >>
The suite was great except for the second bed. We had to ask for them to make it a double bed and make it sleep-able. The main bed was soft and very comfortable. The bathroom was great with the shower , double sinks and tub. The only thing I didn't like was the see through bathroom door. The robe was luxurious. The room could of been cleaner but the service of the butler was fantastic. He always gave us fresh fruit every day. The concierge was always coming to see us where ever we were to see if we needed anything. The service of these two men was fantastic.I feel they made this trip one of the best. Amazing cabin! Great layout perfect for our family of 4. Plenty of storage space, amazing bathroom, and the extra kids bedroom and bathroom is great! Room was creaky as was our other room on the Dawn before. Otherwise very quiet location. Read entire member review >>
