Balcony (BC) Cabin Reviews

Sail Date: October 2016
Small cabin, but did have a balcony. Extremely small shower. Fortunately, we didn't have the size of the average American on board. But the room and bathroom were kept clean and the stateroom attendant was excellent.

This is a handicapped stateroom and is very badly set up. Phone at the head of the bed, only 12 inch space to get to. Impossible to reach in a wheelchair. 4 inch step up to get out on the balcony, impossible in a wheelchair. Bed height approximately 29 inches, very difficult and somewhat dangerous to get in and out of from a wheelchair. Bathroom: polished chrome grab bars, very slippery if hands are wet. Sink approximately 36 inches. At chest height in a wheelchair when brushing teeth. barely enough space to rotate a wheelchair in place, frequently banging hands and knees. Read Less

Boston to Bermuda : Cabin 9630
Sail Date: July 2016
Cabin was adequate for two adults. I would never recommend three adults in this room. Only one electrical plug in the room. Could only charge one phone at a time.

The cabin was much smaller than we expected. Floor space was tight between the bed and the walls. Only one person at a time could walk in the space between the foot of the bed and the wall. The vanity area is not well lit. The space was adequate for what we needed, but may pose a problem for larger people. Trying to travel with three adults or older children in a cabin of this size may prove difficult. Storage space is limited and almost non-existent in the bathroom. Read Less

After having sailed on Royal Caribbean and Carnival, I can say without a doubt that Norwegian is horrible. We took a 7-day cruise on the Norwegian Dawn rated at a 4.0 “a ship that was rated higher than the Carnival Sensation 3.5” and it was horrible from the start. To keep this short I will just hit the highlights’ 1. Day 1- Luggage Lost and not at room- Had to wait at guest services for an hour 2. Elevators are impossible to get. They literally will go past your floor then back to you even if you’re going up the same direction. 3. The main pool is a joke. My office is larger. 4. The kids pool AREA although fun to look at will only accommodate about 15 parents which means for most people who are “good parents” you are out of luck. 5. Parents left their kids at the pool unattended as well as kids who require diapers and are not potty trained were in the pool which IS AGAINST NORWEGIAN POLICY and the sign is posted. It’s also just disgusting and harmful to other children. 6. The worst part was the staff (minus our room attendant) it is as if they did not care. They would not enforce any rules that protected guest from annoying disrespectful trashy people who were on the cruise. Every Breakfast in the dining hall was an average of 5 minutes to get greeted additional 10 for your drinks and another 15 to 20 for your breakfast. We ate at 730 every morning!!!!!! We were always one of the first ones in. Maybe 10 other people would be in there so it is not as they were busy. 7. Service at the Bars and Pool area was the same 17 minutes on our first drink. We told the waiter that we would not tip if he could not provide service which oh by the way (they take 18% tip without your consent regardless) we tried to give him and others a second and third chance but the results where the same. 8. Charged us for internet package that we did not purchase (We tried to get on for a few minutes which according to the ship is 95cents per minute but the internet would not work. Tried to get Guest services to correct it but was told that they could because it was a Sunday. So you can charge someone for a service they didn’t buy on Sunday but you can’t give them their money back???? There’s a word for that “THEFT”. 9. The layout of the ship was horrible, like most respectable cruise line, the top floors are passable from front to back but not this one. To get our so we would have to walk halfway across one level. Go up a floor, walk back a quarter of the way then go all the way down that level to get our Son. 10. Ship Cleanliness and regular maintenance- Almost nonexistent, the hand rails have not been sealed in years. Paint chipped, carpet faded. The atrium on deck7, which is one of the most commonly used floors, actually had cracks and peeling paint. If they are this negligent on popular parts of the ship, you can imagine the look of the rest of the ship. 11. Windows on our Balcony as well as the Dining rooms and buffet room had not been cleaned in weeks. Positive points- The Kids Splash Academy was very nice and accommodating. Our Son loved it. Our room attendant was very nice and did a great job. One waiter (an older man) who could be found along the top deck was good and provided us with our order in a timely fashion. In conclusion, we will spend our money elsewhere. After having sailed on Royal Caribbean and Carnival, I can say without a doubt that Norwegian is horrible.
