Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Norwegian Breakaway

We chose this transatlantic cruise because of its port intensive itinerary. The added attraction was that it was scheduled to only have 4 consecutive days at sea. We ended up having 6 days at sea because the ship was unable to dock in Ponta Delgado due to poor weather. Food in all venues was excellent. No complaints there. Ship ran out of tea within the first few days & coffee towards the ...

Never again on this short staffed, rundown rusty bucket with salty food

We were on the Breakaway in 2018 out of New Orleans. It was a beautiful ship with excellent, attentive service. So it was a tremendous disappointment to find her so rundown and most of the crew never smiling. The balcony cabin on Deck 14 was well worn. Safe was broken, bedsheets had musty smell, bed and pillows were lumpy, balcony was rusty with paint chips flaking off everyday. Cabin steward was ...

This is our 5th cruise on NCL in 2 years. Probably our last. In all of the previous cruises with NCL the dinning experience was different. This sailing sucked. They did not or are not offering reservations at the main dining rooms. Waits have been over an hour most meals. Once seated the meal takes over an hour to get all of the food. My wife has a food allergy and the buffet staff could not ...

This cruise from NYC to Rome was quite interesting. Some good, but far to many missteps by NCL. This was a 16 day cruise from NYC to Rome. The Good. The entertainment was first rate. "Burn the Floor" and "Six" were both professional presented and satisfying to watch. The various bands around the ship were good. The Syd Norman show was excellent. The combined ship band concert in the ...

The overall cruise was above average. We enjoyed the freestyle part of the cruise. The main reason we gave it an above average score was we had to switch rooms due to a foul sewage smell in our room. We also had an issue with our upcharge dining at Cagney's steakhouse. They sat us then told us that we didn't have the right package for this dinning experience. We had to go to Guest services ...

Breakup with Breakaway

My main complaint is that the captain announced that we would only spend 2 days in Bermuda instead of 3 days. He said that because of Hurricane Jose we would have to travel along the east side of Bermuda on the way back to avoid Jose. This was told to us on Tuesday morning. We traveled back along the east coast of Bermuda and the waters were smooth. No sign of Jose at all. There was an ...

We enjoy cruising but really love the destinations. I realize weather can be unpredictable and things change in order to keep the passengers safe. Safety first. Our stay in Bermuda was cut short by 24 hours because of the hurricanes???? All the weather maps we saw showed that our route would have been even further away from any remains of Hurricane Jose if we had left as scheduled the ...

Poor room, poor entertainment, poor service... never again on NCL

Nothing but bad experiences. Ship was late coming in meaning we waited over 3 hours in line just to board the ship. Toilet wouldn't flush, shower overflowed, one closet door kept coming off the track and falling off, other closet door wouldn't stay shut opening and closing all night as the ship rocked, had to put a pillow to stop the banging, missing towels and ice every day, was looking forward ...

Too big for good customer service

Convenient time and location. Customer service seems to suffer in the larger ships. Public space is smaller than on the smaller ships. The wait staff is so busy they do not have enough time to be more than just pleasant. At times they were so busy they were just plain rude. The entertainment is very limited and I cannot believe how small the theater is. It is half the size of those on the ...

We were traveling as an extended family of 9 and booked three 2-bedroom-family-villas in the HAVEN at a very hefty price tag. As hardworking business owners, we expect and are accustomed to luxurious accommodations and service when we are finally able to take a vacation from work. This ship was a complete disappointment. Accommodations: This 'villa' seemed like a basic cabin on steroids. The ...
