Long way to disappointment

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Norwegian Breakaway

We chose this cruise to fulfill a few bucket list items. My elderly mom and I left from Florida by Amtrak and started out journey in Washington, D.C. Those were some fantastic days; a must see! Then on to New York where we arrived (or attempted to arrive) at our Times Square hotel in the middle of the chaos of the drunk driver plowing into the crowd. What a mess. The rest of the time in NY was a ...

First Time on NCL Line.. Never Again!

We are gold members of another line, and We choose this cruise because our family lives in new York and the port was easy for them to travel to. The port was convenient and the destination (Bermuda) we thought would be fun and we stayed in port for two nights. About NCL Breakaway - the ship itself is beautiful, the food for the most part was very good, lots of variety including sugar free and ...

Not the best value for your money

I've cruised five times previously and this was my least favorite cruise of all of them. We took this cruise with my extended family and a small baby and Norwegian cruise lines is not ideal for either of those situations. Because they don't have designated dining hours, it is difficult to get a table for a party that large at dinner time. They have no babysitting services available on board ...

Freestyle Pain in The Neck!

We recently cruised to Bermuda on the Norwegian Breakaway. We were excited to be able to leave out of New York and leave our car conveniently parked at the pier. We had cruised on Norwegian in Hawaii, and although the shipboard experience there was less than stellar, we decided to give Norwegian another chance. Although one would think that the freestyle dining feature was a benefit, because ...

I have been on this ship eight times previously and have been very happy. This time was like being on a different ship. The food was tasteless.even the specialty restaurants were not good this time. Portions were noticeably smaller, for breakfast I was served 1/2 of a bagel with my smoked salmon. Who does that? When I asked for my "free " bottle of wine at Le Bistro because I have platinum status, ...

Very crowded and noisy. Stayed in our cabin a lot for peace and quiet.

My wife and I are 70 and this review is from our point of view. If you're younger, you may disagree with me. That's OK. Boarding in New York was long and disorganized. NCL told us to arrive between 10:00 and 10:30 even though they also said boarding starts at Noon. We were checked in within ten minutes and found one open seat to wait the hour and a half until boarding at Noon. My wife ...

We have sailed Norwegian Cruise Lines before and always had a wonderful time. This was quite a different experience. We could not wait to get back to port and get off this ship! The ship was filled to capacity of about 5,000 people however they did not have enough staff to cover the guests. Right from the first day in the buffet we had an hour wait in line to get food. No matter which ...

Will not travel with Norwegian again

Because I am a vegetarian, I did as much advance research as I could prior to my trip. I didn't want to spend too much on a trip traveling with an 8 year old. However, food quality is important to me. Norwegian is known as one of the better cruise lines in this regard, meeting the sweet spot between value for your money, family friendly, and having (at least as far as I could tell) decent food. ...

A week going to Bermuda what can go wrong? NCL used to be the best value. This was my 6th cruise with NCL... and my last. Thumb's up: Beautiful ship Breakway, comfortable room (mini suite), great musical Rock of ages.. I mean really great !!! Nice service a the spa and the food at the raw bar. Thumb's down: Embakation was total chaos and employees were rude. Restrooms on 6, 7 and 8 decks were ...

No more lobster unless upcharge use to be one night of lobster with dinner, No more chocolate buffet why I don't know. Embarkation requires you to sit in a room until they call numbers instead of just walking on the ship, like old times drinks very expensive and small. No more carrying at least on case of your own water. And I will stop there. On the positive side room was great. Room service was ...
