Overall, it was a great cruise! Embarkation went smoothly, just a little confusing initially with Bliss using two terminals. A huge perk was being expedited through security! A half hour from parking the car to stepping onboard! Our cabin was available just short of 1pm and our luggage was in the cabin at 3:30!!! The dining was incredible! Cagney's was excellent, as usual. Service was incredibly fast, we had our food about 15 minutes after we sat down! Los Lobos was very good. Guacamole was handmade at your table and served with spiced chips that added just the right punch to the guac! A little pricey for the servings, but not horribly. What to say about Teppanyaki? That is the most consistent restaurant I’ve ever visited. The food is always excellent and the chefs very friendly and entertaining. Q was the one that really shone for me! The service was amazing, the portions were big, and the food was awesome! I had the platter, the sausage and brisket were really good, but the ribs and chicken were the highlight! Just enough sauce to tastes great and not have run down to my elbows! The entertainment was pretty flat for me. Jersey Boys and Havana just didn’t grab me. The music and singing were fantastic, but there were more, non-musical elements, that dragged them out. Happy Hour Prohibition was WOW! It was in the Social Club, so a significantly more intimate location that made the interactive parts of the show way more fun. Five drinks were included and they were mixed strong! The girls were amazing! Great voices and it looked like they were having a blast performing, especially when they messed with members of the audience! It is adult only, and if you are easily offended by sexual innuendo you may want to pass. We went to one theme party, Caliente, and were really disappointed with it. It’s billed as “...featuring pop/Latin music.” It didn’t. It was just electronic rave music. Basically, Glow Party with a new name. The usual game shows were there, the dance contest and the Not so Newlywed game are always hysterical!! There weren’t as many dance classes as the other NCL ships we’ve been on. Three on a 7-day cruise. We were 50/50 with the excursions. The Champagne Snorkel and Cruise in St Thomas was fantastic! We were on the catamaran The Dancing Dolphin. The cat was very clean and well maintained and the crew was incredible!! Captain Val, Hope, and Brandon were very professional and super friendly! They kept everything upbeat and made sure the rum punch and champagne flowed on the way back! We also made a quick run up to Paradise Point on the Sky Ride. $21 but the view is amazing!! Check it out on Google images!! The second excursion was a cruise over to Virgin Gorda and the Baths. It’s a snorkel in and out so, if you can’t swim, look at another way to visit. If you’ve never been to the Baths, it’s a pretty neat thing to see. CRAZY crowded, but neat. Our crew on this one didn’t inspire confidence in us. The two deck hands didn’t really seem to know what they were doing. When we left Virgin Gorda, one of them didn’t finish untying us from the anchor point so they snapped a rope, the Captain was so involved with that, he almost hit another boat. He stopped the boat after some of us started yelling for him to stop. We didn’t get off the ship at Nassau, but the majority of the passengers did. The hot tubs, pools, go-kart track, and ocean loops were pretty much empty. The go-karts were fun, very, very busy usually. The Ocean Loops water slide was a blast! One really cool memory is Wyland, the artist who designed the hull art for the Bliss, was on board. He did two paintings/watercolors at 678 Ocean Place (the atrium) every day. He’s a really nice guy and appears to really like interacting with his fans! He was always talking to us, he’d take photos with us holding his just finished painting, and just really cool. He usually had to be dragged out by his rep. I would definitely do this cruise again! The crew was incredible! We’ve always had great crews, but this one just took it a step further! The Cruise Director and his assistant (Silas and Alex) were everywhere and always full of energy. I had the biggest smile watching Silas dance with a little girl, about 8 or so, in Spice H2O! He made that little one’s night! Our concierge and butler were on our cruise 18 months ago on the Epic and they remembered us! Read Less

The Bliss lived up to all the hype. It was Eastern Caribbean to St Thomas, Tortola, and Bahamas. Embarking was the only disappointment. We boarded right at noon and went to sign up for the Race Track and some comedy shows. The first slot for the Race Track we could book was Thursday at 5PM. I think NCL should take a lesson from Disney and adopt some type of fast pass system. We did book Jersey Boys and Havana before boarding, and we were able to book a comedy show. Our room was an Aft Balcony. Can't beat the sunsets. Specialty Dining was excellent at Cagney's for Filet, Tepanyaki's for Hibachi Steak and Q for Texas BBQ. The band that played at Q was disappointing. I felt like they were the country band that performed with Belushi in the Blues Brothers Movie. I would have preferred this century Country music, or, even a DJ. Best excursion was Turtle Cove Snorkeling in the Cat VI. We saw quite a few turtles and the crew was excellent pointing out all the islands and telling what fish to look for in the water. Another excursion we went on was Virgin Gorda Baths at Tortola. I enjoyed it, but, the reviews I had read said it was too crowded. They were correct, too many people. Read Less

We loved this whole experience. Everything was great! Service was amazing. Embarkation and Disembarkation were both very easy. The ship is beautiful. Make sure to take advantage of every thing they offer. Free entertainment and free jewelry. Cabins are beautiful! Make sure to get one with a Balcony. Don't settle for an cabin with out one. They make the experience 100 times more enjoyable. Dining: Where to start: Cagneys is hands down the best steak I have ever had! Taste and Manhattan Room were awesome. Savor was terrible, Service was bad, food was bad. The whole experience in that restaurant was terrible. The staff is not helpful. Make sure to see Jersey Boys!!! Awesome show! The 4 guys of the group are so good! The guy playing Frankie Vallie was the best. My room service was amazing! If you get floor 13 you will be taken care of greatly. Vergillio was my steward and he was amazing! Port excursions were fun and very worth it. We had 2 children with us. My son is 10 and my daughter is 7. They absolutely loved splash academy! They begged to go all day everyday!! Make sure to have your children check it out! I would go again and again! It is so fun! The bilss was amazing. I would Cruise NCL again. Read Less

It’s our 20th Anniversary and we were just going to do a Charleston trip until my husband reminded me we should take a cruise. We had seen ads for Norwegian but had never been on one. We booked Wednesday and left Friday to sail on Saturday. We were a little nervous because we have only sailed with Royal but we were shocked-in the best way! The Bliss is beautiful and gave us the freedom to do as much or as little as we wanted. The food choices were insane and we had the freedom to eat in the Garden buffet style, sit down meals, specialty dinning or room service. The activities on board were so fun and we were like kids again-go carting, water slides, dancing the night away and touring the amazing islands on excursions. The Bliss is the way to travel adults only or with family! We have already booked our next cruise with our teens. Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful and made us feel special. The choices are endless and if you can’t find what you are looking for the staff goes the extra mile to make it happen! Our cabin was very roomy and even though the first day was a little crowded there’s so much to do that it was easy to catch an elevator. The shows are straight from Broadway! The only thing we wish was it was longer!! This is a MUST for any cruiser-whether it’s your first or hundredth! Read Less

We had friends going on this cruise so we joined them. It was our first cruise. I loved sitting out on the balcony at night you could see so many stars. The food was great. We did have to wait a long time at Cagney's, they gave us extra drinks to compensate. There is always something to do on ship. We didn't do some activities we wanted to as we were still at another activity. Warning! Don't have beads in your hair if you want to do the waterslide! LOL Actually the only thing that upset me was the smoking area. On the aft sundeck you are squeezed into a small area when they could have made half the deck smoking. The bar could even be on the non-smoking side. I know there will be backlash to the smoking area, but just asking for a little room to move and not having people squished in like sardines in a can. All said we had a great time! Read Less

We chose this cruise to travel with our frequent cruising friends. Both Embarkation and Disembarkation were super easy- well done NCL!! We thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment- from Jersey Boys to Beatlemania to the personable and funny Jim Badger in the District Brewhouse. We were happy to eat at several of the specialty dining restaurants- a great option to have some quieter meals away from the hubbub of the buffet options. A definite plus for us was being in a Spa balcony. Having unlimited access to the spa area was a total treat and we’ll always book a spa room from now on!! We visited the casino several times and wished that there were some tables with lower limits so that we could play more- it wouldn’t hurt the casino to have lower limits during the day when there weren’t many people in the casino. The eco hike excursion on St. John was nice- but we would have liked more time to swim. We spent the day we returned in Miami - specifically in South Beach- beautiful area and worth the time to walk around and have a relaxing lunch. Read Less

First time on the Bliss, second cruise with Norwegian. To be brief, the cruise was absolutely fantastic. Let's start from the beginning: EMBARKATION: Entered the terminal at 11:05, had a drink in my hand on the ship in The Local by 11:35. Compared to the Port of Tampa, which is a nightmare, this could not have been any easier. FOOD: You should never have to eat any place but the Garden Cafe for high quality, diverse food. Of course, specialty restaurants are fantastic, (we at a La Cucina which was phenonmenal), as well as the other complimentary restaurants at least once. Magaritaville was OK, but convenient to the pool deck. However, the Garden Cafe was all we needed. OBSERVATION DECK (Deck 15): One of the most chill places to go for any travel. Pick up a light lunch or dinner, some adult beverages, and sit with a 180 degree view for as long as you like. ENTERTAINMENT: Jersey Boys was amazing! Havana! was good, but would not have been upset if we had not experienced it. Beatlemania in The Cavern is my one minor complaint. The act was fantastic (both nights), but the venue was challenging. We understood the reason to have The Cavern is to showcase this act. However, the crowds shoehorning into the area was frustrating. The ship should either (1) restrict the number of seats in the venue, or (2) ticket it. The people who just decided to stand in front of you, or bring chairs in from the waterfront and make their own seating caused some frustration for several of us who were in legit seating places. POOL DECK: The other minor complaint, which is common for any ship, is the "reserving" of deck chairs. Literally unused chairs for hours at a time, when it was clearly being displayed on the big screen that if left an hour towels would be removed. BARS/LOUNGES: Sugarcane Mojito Bar is a GREAT bar/lounge. The Waterfront bars all were excellent, not to mention the view. Staff were outstanding at not only the lounges but also all restaurants. EXCURSIONS: Tortola and St. Thomas island tours were excellent mainly due to the drivers we had that took the time to explain history and other fun facts. Magan's Bay and Cane Garden Bay were gorgeous and wish we had more time there. DISEMBARKMENT: Just a easy as getting on, with a ride to FLL Airport cheaper than a taxi ride. All in all, we are Norwegian fans AGAIN and will encourage any of our friends to book a cruise with this line, and especially this class of ship. Read Less

We have cruised the Escape the last three years, and sailed Bliss this time around. We sail with two great friends we met on the Escape three years ago, and now make our February cruise a must do event with them every year. Loved the ship, had great service. Ate at Ocean Blue, Cagneys, Margaritaville, the Local, Food Republic, Los Lobos , Q, and Teppenyaki. Had dinner one night in Manhattan. All meals were great, service fantastic. The cheesecake at Ocean Blue was everyone's favorite dessert, and I personally loved every part of my meal at Q, including the banana pudding and smoked peach margarita. Did not do race track or laser tag, just not our bag. But we did see the Beatles (Early Years and Abbey Road shows) in the Cavern Club. Get there at least 45 minutes early for a seat, but worth it. Jersey Boys was great, but we have seen it three times previously, so it was cool seeing it at sea. Pool deck is rough with chair holding and loud groups and crowds. Drank our faces off with the UBP. Love Sugarcane Mojito bar, but struggled to get a drink there; the bars popularity has grown, and many people getting drinks are slow to order. I was frustrated, but Bong recognized us from previous cruises and would take care of us as quickly as he could. One thing that I truly dislike is these bar crawls; I certainly hope that people realize that requesting 30, 40 drinks at a time impacts others around them. Especially mojitos!. Ok, enough being a grouch! Cabin was awesome, we stay in the same cabin every year (12304). It is the last balcony before the aft cabins, and has a long extended balcony. Enough room for two chairs, lounger, two tables. This was our only disappointment this cruise; our room steward could not meet our schedule needs. We leave the cabin by 8 am every day, return at 5 PM, leave for dinner at 8:45 PM, return after midnight. He openly complained to us that he didn't have time to turn down our room because he had "too many rooms to take care of". We usually tip our room steward $75 for the week. This guy got $20. Three nights room was not cleaned. Found a great couple from New York on Cruise Critic, we rented a private charter to White Bay and Jost Van Dyke while in Tortola. Outstanding trip...rain to start off, turned into a spectacular day with sun and warmth. Soggy Dollar Bar is so worth the cost of the excursion ($320 per couple which included tip, trip, and beer and water onboard,). New friends were fun and good people! We liked the Observation Lounge, but never utilized it. We're out in the sun all day. Went to the decades party and danced, the Assistant CD did a great job. Lots of teens whose parents were providing beers for them. Typical teen drama made for great people watching!. Just kids being kids, and we truly had very few issues with kids or teens other than the occasional bump as they ran down a hallway or corridor in packs. Both embarkation and disembarkation were awesome. On boat by 11:30, off boat by 7:50 am. Smooth and effortless. Already booked for Encore February 2020. Great job NCL, as always. Love the product, value, service, and experience we get on this lines cruise. Read Less

This was our fourth Norwegian cruise in 3 years. We had enjoyed many of the new ships, and were looking forward to another one. Unfortunately the public areas felt cramped, and the customer service was lacking, as they were frankly worn out from the amount of people waiting. We brought along my wife's parents as well, who are seasoned cruisers, and throughout the entire cruise (even though a cruise is great no matter what), everything felt a bit lacking. We have sailed on the Escape twice and the Getaway, and this cruise on the Bliss felt very different. Had a great meal at Teppanyki, a good meal at Cagney's and a sub par meal at Los Lobos (really felt below the standards of 'Specialty Dining') Had a bad experience in The Local, and even though I submitted a comment card, I heard nothing back. Overall - this cruise, we (my DW and I) felt more like a number than ever before. Read Less

This was our second cruise on the Bliss in just over six months, and the ship itself is still gorgeous. The staff was excellent, as always, and the room was comfy. It's just a few nit-picks that drop the cruise from excellent to very good. Some have nothing to do with the ship, they are actually about Norwegian itself, but it reflects on the ship. First, the cruise fares are through the roof. This is going to put everyone's expectations higher, so it is easier to fail. Secondly, Norwegian changed the UBP just before we sailed, and moved one of our friend's drinks of choice into the excluded range. So, while it didn't directly affect me, I heard about one of our friends potentially having to pay $4 per drink while on a all-included drinks plan and I had to think "What else are they going to change before we sail?" A company should not cause angst in customers paying to relax. On to the ship - we had a mini suite with an extended balcony (cabin 8726), and most of the extended size went to the balcony itself. Compared to the handicap balcony we had last time, this room was cramped. There was storage but no drawers, which was strange. There is plenty of suitcase storage under the bed. The bathroom was large and I liked the shower. The balcony is large, but it is narrow and long, so it is like looking down a tunnel to the sea. It does have room for a table and chairs and two loungers. The way the ship is shaped, most of the balcony is open to the decks above, so if you look up, you will see people looking down at you. Wave. Dining was good - we had the dining package for three nights and two Platinum Plus dinners, so we were pretty much covered for the week. We had dinner at Cagney's twice, Teppenyaki, Le Bistro, Los Lobos and Q. Cagney's and Le Bistro are still my favorites and are consistent. Teppenyaki is fun and the food is good - plus they will make combinations for you that aren't on the menu. Los Lobos is pretty decent Tex-Mex food. Q is decent but the portion sizes are small for the prices and very small if you are going to call yourself "Texas BBQ." I don't know of another place that cuts the meat off the bone on beef ribs. The beef ribs were decent but the portions were tiny. We enjoyed Food Republic once but it was never open again while we were ready to eat. The hours are very limited which is strange for a venue that takes up that much space and has a dedicated (it seems) staff. We had lunch at Margaritaville twice. I can't stand the pricing options but the food is good. The burgers are really tasty and the nachos are good, but the idea of each person getting an appetizer, a main and a dessert at a bar makes no sense. My wife got the nachos as an appetizer and couldn't finish her meal. I don't understand why it is not just ala carte. Their hours are limited, as well. This was the "mega ship" Eastern itinerary - St Thomas, Tortola and Nassau. We had two sea days out and a sea day in between Tortola and Nassau, so there was plenty of time to explore the ship. St Thomas and Tortola are still recovering from the hurricanes, but are making progress. We did the KonTiki excursion in St Thomas and it was a lot of fun, including a decent amount of time at Honeymoon Beach. We just wandered in Tortola, which was a mix of finding fun shops and depressing from the still-boarded up buildings. We didn't get off the ship in Nassau - and apparently weren't alone. Why don't they go to GSC? Archie was one of the best room stewards we have ever had. He always seemed to appear when we needed something, and every request was handled quickly. My wife needed a egg crate topper for the bed to help with her back, and it was installed quickly. There are no AC outlets near the bed. Each bedside lamp has a USB port but no outlet. If you have a CPAP or other device, bring an extension cord. The outlets are on the wall by the desk on the other side of the room. Embarkation was smooth, and we were onboard rather quickly. We arrived at the port about 11am. Cabins were ready just after 1pm, which is usual. Disembarkation went smoothly, as well. I was not wild about the itinerary, but we wanted to sail the Bliss again, since our first sailing was in Alaska, so we didn't have much ship time. It is a beautiful ship. The Observation Lounge was a great addition - especially for those of us who miss the Spinnaker Lounge on the Jewel-class. However, it is as subject to chair hogs as the pool deck, and people go there to sleep. I have a feeling most of the nappers are the ones who sail inside cabins "because we're never in our room", so they camp out in the lounge. It does give the effect of a high-quality homeless shelter at times. The snacks there are very tasty and the views are excellent, even if someone is sleeping between you and the window. Beware on the photography! The photos taken in the restaurants are now sold separately, they are not part of any photo package. So, when the photographer takes your group photo in Cagney's, it will be printed and presented to you before your meal ends. You can buy it or not - but that's your only chance to purchase it. This seems like a rip-off especially since my wife had pre-purchased a photo package and those weren't included. So, I am beginning to understand the "nickel and dime" refrains from other passengers. I did enjoy the cruise, but a Norwegian cruise is not the value is was a couple of years ago. This is the first ship where I did feel really claustrophobic - when we left Jersey Boys (an excellent show), the mobs of people between the theater and the Local (needs a new menu) were a bit overwhelming. I do think I prefer smaller ships. I would sail the Bliss again for the features I like because they are more than the features I don't like. However, it would have to be a lower price point to make up for the extra charges. Read Less

I wanted to go on their new ship the Bliss .That is a beautiful ship, the employees, food, entertainment and service was excellent. When I call the service desk to ask for something it was done or deliver right away. What I like about that ship to is they have a Starbucks Coffee and lots of hot tubs on the ship. The Casino had all the up-to-date Slot Machines, race car track, bowling lane, Laser tag. What I didn’t like was you had to put your room key down into a slot on the wall behind you entire door in order for the lights and Electric plugs to work in your room. Took NCL Bliss from Miami to British and US Virgin Islands then to Nassau. No where I wanted to really go but heard it was all about the new ship. We found the cabins lovely, especially the comfortable bed and large shower. The ship is designed for Alaska, not a Caribbean cruise. Thr pool area is way too small for the size of the ship and the chairs are uncomfortable and tightly packed. The regular restaurants were average at best. Service was poor. Attention to detail non existent. Most of the specialty restaurants except the Italian one were much better.....the French and Seafood ones were excellent and worth the $$$. Drinks on the ship were poorly made and very inconsistent. They can't make an old fashioned as many tries as I gave them! Shows varied -- Jersey Boys was very good, Havana was weak as was the comedian we saw. Loved the enclosed observation deck when weather turned bad but for most of trip it was a waste...unless you're in Alaska! Read Less

We had a good time, but not spectacular like I have had on other cruises. The positives: Great food, service was good, especially Jennylyn at the Atrium bar, and Alexandria at the Taste restaurant. Cagney's was good, but Teppanyaki was outstanding. Havana and Jersey Boys were both good. We met some great people. The downside: Not much to do on sea days. Went to the pool and every single chair was taken or "saved" for hours on end. Not many servers so the wait at the bar was insane. The kids pool was just on the opposite side of the adult pool. I absolutely hated it and one of things I love about cruises is the pool and serenity. There wasn't much else to do until around 3 in the afternoon, when they would do trivia and later at night when they did game shows. You had to reserve EVERYTHING in advance, which means you missed out on other things. Read Less

My husband and I took this cruise for our honeymoon and were so excited to go on the new large ship both having been in Norwegian cruises a couple times each, myself on the Dawn a couple times to Bermuda. Overall the main problem came down to two things: first, the boat was far too large and had way too many passengers for the cruise staff to handle. From the table service dining to the bars, almost everything. The buffet was the only portion of the ship that I would consider ran very well and kept very well stocked. The sit down restaurants the staff were very nice but very slow, not attentive, very unorganized, everyone running around including the managers. Working at a restaurant myself full time I can tell when a place is disorganized and chaotic. This resulted in very long wait times for the food, the food being like warm when served etc. You could order a drink at dinner and not get it for 20 minutes or at all some nights without reminding the server. This seemed to be the same situation going on at all the tables around us as well, large or small parties (there were only two of us so shouldn’t have been hard). The steakhouse specialty restaurant had a good filet but minus that the food at the table service was just ok. The chicken dishes too salty, the strip steak very fatty, soups too cold, salads too much dressing and crappy quality lettuce etc. I was very disappointed when comparing to the dawn which we were all so pleased with the food and service. The restaurants overall were too large for the amount of staff to handle as well as the kitchen. We didn’t have to wait long when we would go for a table but we would’ve preferred to have waited a half hour and then have gotten better service. The hosts and hostesses did a great job though. Our server at the steakhouse was good. As for the outdoor space, I was so disappointed! The same number of hot tubs/jacuzzis as on the Dawn which is almost half the passengers!! And one small pool that is deep the entire length!? Made no sense, forget finding a lounge chair after 8 am! It was crazy! Some days we would circle the ship for an hour before we would find something and there was only two of us! There was also a beach club section closed off that you needed reservations for on the ship too which I didn’t understand! They should’ve spent less money on decor and added another six hot tubs and a second pool for adults (there is a fairly large child pool go figure). The casino was also not big enough and the gym weight area could fit 4 people at once! So crazy! Lastly the disembarkment process was a mess! We reserved a shuttle through them to Fort Lauderdale airport and they gave us color coded luggage tags and took our luggage the night before off the ship. The luggage was supposed to be arranged by section after you depart the boat but ours were spread out over three huge factory style rooms! We spent a half hour finding our luggage almost missing our shuttle! That was a horrible way to end my vacation! All the luggage tags indicating the color section came off all of our luggage? I told someone working for Norwegian and she didn’t seem to be too concerned with our issue. Outrageous! I am usually very used to crowds and vacations like this, I frequent Disney world often, but please avoid this large disaster of a ship! Take one of the smaller ships old or not! Read Less

OK.. Let me start by saying that we have cruised with Carnival mostly and have never had a "bad cruise." This was our first experience with NCL, and despite a few minor negatives that we noticed along the way...we had a wonderful time on our cruise. After all...your cruise is what YOU make of it... and WE made it great!! Based on the sheer amount of complaining and whining we heard from other passengers...not everyone feels the same way. I will say that if anything could ruin our trip it was the constant complaining we would hear from fellow passengers. From the lady who was coming UNGLUED on the guest services person because she "has anxiety and absolutely NEEDS a fan in her room right this minute, or she will freak out"...to the lady who paid 12,000 to have a suite in the Haven only to have a butler who didn't attend to her every need.... and of course, the constant people complaining about the lack of smoking areas.... Everywhere we went people complained about the food, or the wait for drinks, or that the comedian wasn't funny, or that the game show was boring....Complain, complain, complain....UGH!! Really people??? Are you really THAT entitled that you can't just enjoy your vacation without complaint?? Hey Fan Lady.... if you need one that bad because of your anxiety...BRING ONE WITH YOU!! Problem solved!! Smokers (and I am a vaper, so I get it)...yes, it was a small area, but just be happy that they are still providing you ANY space to smoke in these days! And, the people who complained about the wait for drinks... really? If you can't wait 3 MINUTES for a drink...you might have a problem. OK...Now on to the review. This just comes from my own experience and others may have different experiences, but here is my honest review of our experience on the Bliss (both pros and a few cons): Pros: * The ship was new, elegant, and super clean * Elevators were plentiful and rarely crowded (was I on a different ship than some of these other people?) LOL * There was so much to do on the ship!! It was almost overwhelming how many options there were. No possible way to get bored on the Bliss. *The adult only area (which is where the smoking section was BTW) was our favorite place to be. Never had an issue finding a spot to sunbathe...and the bartenders in this area were the friendliest on the ship! * Specialty dining was the way to go!! We booked prior to the cruise at Q, Cagneys, La Cucina, and Ocean Blue. We had GREAT food at all of them, except La Cucina. * Q was amazing and the portions were Texas sized!! My only complaint was that I couldn't eat it all and couldn't take it to go. * Jersey Boys was amazing!!! Best show I've seen in a while! * Excursions through cruise line were amazing! The way they were organized was well-planned. We never had an issue getting off the ship and getting to them on time. * The race track was awesome. My husband and his friend went a few times and had a blast each time. The only thing I will say about this is that they felt it was better to NOT have the weekly pass (which was 200.00) because you most likely wouldn't get your money's worth. * Cagneys was great. Had the pork loin...sooo good! However the best steak we had on the ship was in the Manhattan Room. * Ocean Blue was wonderful on our anniversary night. Had the halibut, which was melt in your mouth delicious! * NCL did a great job decorating our room for our Anniversary and they gave us TWO Anniversary cakes which were very tasty! * The LOCAL was one of our favorite spots to grab a beer and hang out with friends. We really liked the bowling alley there! Ok, now the cons... (not "end my love of cruising" worthy cons...but still noticeable negatives) * Unfriendly and unorganized staff. We had two bartenders and one server who stood out to us with their upbeat attitudes and smiles. The rest seemed to be very unhappy to be there. I don't know if that is because of how NCL treats them, or if that is just the way the world is becoming....but it was definitely noticeable. * LOUD music on the pool deck until very late at night. This didn't bother us too much, except on the nights that we turned in early and could hear it even though we closed the deck door. We were on the 15th floor....and could rarely open our deck door at night because of the music. If you like quiet...choose a room on a lower floor or in the aft. * La Cucina restaurant. This was the only bad food experience we had on the ship. Fettuccine noodles were very dry and the alfredo sauce tasted like Ragu. Hubby's ravioli was good, but they only gave him 3 tiny squares. * Outlets in the room were few and other than a usb plug, there are no actual outlets by the bed. Also, unless you left a card in the slot when you left the room, the power completely shut off. Great for conserving energy, but not so good for wanting to charge your phone while you go out for the night. * Debarkation was OK, but they had us snaking through the casino and restaurants. It was a "hurry up and wait" kind of situation. Definitely not as breezy as embarkation. There was a lady who kept yelling at people to "move along, please." Yet she could clearly see that there was a huge line of people who couldn't "move" any faster then the person in front of them. It seemed rather disorganized. * Finally, again... the worst part about our experience was the constant negativity from the other passengers. All in all.... we truly enjoyed the ship! The excursions we did were fantastic, the food overall on the ship was amazing, and there was always plenty to do!! Yes, there were some "cons" but there was nothing to complain about!! I will cruise with NCL again in a heartbeat! Read Less

New ship, always like to sail the new NCL ships. This one is going to be a winner for Alaska with the beautiful Observation Lounge. The color scheme on this ship is very appealing and soothing to us. We enjoyed the mornings, afternoons, and some evenings on that lounge. We also enjoyed the continental breakfast and light lunches each day. We had a spa balcony, whereas we usually do a spa mini-suite, but they were sold out early on, and we enjoyed the spa experience every day. The ship has the usual features we like about NCL with the various specialty dining choices. There are two excellent bars on board in our opinion. Sugarcane, with the ever-funny and top-notch bartender, Bong. The other is the Observation Lounge bar. Every bartender there is very interactive with passengers, sharing beverage tips and stories. As with all of our NCL cruises, it is really important to pre-book both entertainment and specialty dining. We never had a glitch the entire week. Overally, embarkation/disembarkation was smooth and fast. Although we have read some negatives about the food and service, we never had any issues with any of it. Read Less

I'm just coming off a 7 day Caribbean excursion on this ship. Writing a review is simply from my perspective in having done numerous cruises. There were some good points with this ship & its crew, but overall, although it's brand new - the layout, the food, & a lot of the staff, need help. Let's start with the positives: - Our stateroom was beautiful - we were on deck 10 mid ship. It did get pretty rocky day 4 & 5 and we could feel it significantly. The lower you go, the less you'll feel it. Unfortunately, you can't help that. - The Captain was great in explaining what was happening and trying to make passengers comfortable. - The food at The Bistro (a French Restaurant) was the best we had on the ship all week. We had to pay for it but after the week of food we had, we were fine with paying. The staff (especially the Manager) needs better table manners - he at one point told the woman we were dining with to finish her lamb by picking it up and just eating it off the bone - after 3 times of her saying "No thank you" and him persisting, he finally gave up. Back off buddy. - They had a Starbucks, cigar bar (for my hubby), ' Mojito Bar we loved - We loved Tortola & St John - We LOVED our spa girls!!! They were hands down the kindest sweetest employees on our cruise - Jersey Boys & the Comedy Night were great. We didn't go but I heard the 80s & 90s dance parties were fun too Unfortunately with this cruise, there were more negatives: - What to watch for: room service is included, but drinks WITH room service are not. Yes, even if you have the beverage package. - Bartenders will absolutely look past you and pretend you're not there. 100% the rudest bartenders I have met in my life (and I've bartended for quite awhile before - it was unacceptable) - They filled up what could be an incredible amount of much needed space with laser tag that very few (I never saw anyone there) used. Literally an entire upper deck. After 9 am, on a good at sea day, chairs will all be taken. So get there early & get your chairs! Once they're taken - you're out of luck - There is only one small pool if you're not part of The Haven -Huge buffet that you quickly get sick of. Free restaurants were TERRIBLE other than Taste which was ok. Staff had zero clue what to do and meals took over an hour and 15 to come out - and that was on a slow morning/evening. Coffee we were served was cold- that's why I was excited for Starbucks! - Do NOT pay to go to Margaritaville & if you decide to anyway, don't get the taco salad- it's literally bagged nacho chips thrown in with lettuce- that's it. Plus the staff had no clue what to do. For the love of all that is holy.please train your staff before you throw them on a cruise with 4000 people. - Don't bother with the Jeep & Beach Excursion in Nassau..it was a complete joke & waste of money, I'd recommend renting a scooter or 4 wheeler, go to a nearby beach, & catch the local food. I wish I had just skipped it and went off on our own...we passed some beautiful & fun places that we only caught a glimpse of - go do your own thing! (However I WOULD recommend the Catamaran to Jost van Dyke on Tortola- we loved it and the beach was gorgeous) - We found staff at the Garden Cafe friendly (Washi washi) but most everyone else was rude - from guest services to room service to the towel guys. I don't get it. Why are you hiring people in a Customer Service related field that can't be friendly??!' Foreigner or not - smiling is the same in any language So - would I take this Cruiseline again? No. Would I recommend it? I wouldn't. There are some really awesome amazing cruises out there. Unfortunately, this cruise ship is not one of them. Read Less

We booked reservations on the Bliss for the Mexican Riviera last October and again to the Caribbean January 19th. The ship has greatly improved with service levels and communications. The were less wait times for almost everything. Dan dan the cruise director and Mark the Hotel manager were outstanding making this a really good cruise. The only down fall for us was the excursions and that wasn't reflective of the cruise itself. The food was really good everywhere we ate. The staff was very friendly and attentive. There were times that parents were not watching their kids and they would push all the buttons on the elevators and run up and down the halls but that is just lack of good parenting which is visible and irritating to other passengers. The spa was fairly busy all the time and I wish they would limit the number of passes they sell. The biggest improvement from the previous Bliss cruise and this one is that they implemented a new policy that if you put items on chairs to hold them and you do not use the chair within 30 minutes they will remove your items and hold them at the desk for you to pick them up... Huge benefit because now it was much easier to enjoy the sun deck! Read Less

We chose this cruise as it was recommended by our travel agent. We flew into Miami, but just hung out at our hotel until we departed the next day. Very nice hotel, not much around to do, and pool was outside and cold, but it is January. Our hotel, the Crown Plaza had a big shuttle, only $10 per person, that took us right to the port the next morning. Very nice. Embarkment was fairly fast and easy. Need your travel documents and your passport as you go through. Well organized. The ship is absolutely beautiful. Crew all over the ship was wonderful all the time. Always there to help if needed. Our cabin, 13786, was very nice size, plenty of storage, very comfortable. Was worried about getting sea-sick as I do have vertigo, but never bothered me. A balcony mini-suite with connecting stateroom in the middle of the ship real close to the elevators. The shows, jersey boys and havana were excellent. Wanted to see the prohibition, but totally booked. Could have waited in line and maybe got in but didn't care to. The beatles cover band is very, very good also, but very small venue. Get there real early if you want a place to sit or even stand. The large Garden Cafe at the front of the ship has wonderful food and anything you want pretty much all day long. We went to a complimentary sit down restaurant the one day for lunch, the Savor I believe, opened at 11:00 a.m. Really good food, but took 1/2 hour to get our first drink, 15 minutes to get the appetizer and then only 10 minutes for our food, so have time on your hands. The cafe is much faster if in a hurry. Shore excursions were very well organized by the ship. Remember to bring your tickets for the excursions AND an ID with you. I did not bring an ID the one time because they didn't request it the first time and they almost did not let me back on the ship in St Thomas. My mistake. It is a little bit of waiting in line, but the excursions we were on were well worth it. Tortola; Island Beach Break, St Thomas;Explore St Thomas and Magens Bay and Nassau's; Blue Lagoon Island Beach Day. Just wish we would have had more time on each island. It goes so fast. We would have loved to get on the racetrack once or twice, but totally booked all the time with kids. Pool was always jam packed with no room. Sat in the hot tub in Spice H2O a couple times and layed on those chairs a few times as this was the adult only area, very nice. Excellent bartenders. We did not have children with and that's the way we'd keep it. We already put a deposit down on another cruise with Norwegian we much use within 4 years and we are looking forward to it very much. Disembarkment was quite a wait in line, but organized pretty well. Huge line on 7th floor of ship that circles around and gradually gets you to the auditorium where they take your picture and disembark. Have patience..... Read Less

I chose this cruise after doing a lot of research and wanting to try a new cruise line. I wanted top of the line cruising with 100% luxury experience and that is what I received. I can't be happier with my 7 day cruise experience with Norwegian. The ship is magnificent, the food is fantastic, the staff are very professional and friendly. I did it all and have zero complaints. We had an aft facing balcony penthouse suite, the views and ambiance were so romantic. I loved the space we had in our suite. All food options were so good that we did not even use all of our paid meal packages, we loved the Haven Restaurant and other complimentary food options. We did try Margaritaville and Steakhouse restaurant, nothing but good things to say about the food and staff. We gambled and won some money, which was fun and also enjoyed the entertainment on board. Don't miss Prohibition. We even walked away with some very unique art pieces from Park West Gallery to add to our collection. Read Less

We've never cruised before and had no idea what to expect - all we've done are all inclusives. Embarking was hectic, we aren't used to so many people. The biggest problem here was that our luggage wasn't on the same bus we took from the airport to the ship. Our luggage came separately in a cube van and didn't make it to our room, we had to go down and collect it ourselves. This did cause some anxiety initially because who likes to be separated from their luggage?? They assured us this was a normal practice, and they were correct. Dan Dan (cruise director) is AMAZING. Hilarious, fun to talk one on one with. Don't miss anything he's a part of. The food at the buffet was wonderful, tons of variety for myself (a vegetarian) and my husband. My biggest issue here was that nothing could be guaranteed nut/peanut free. Even the gelato at Coco's had a hazenut variety and they used the same scooper for all the gelato's. The cupcakes from the bake shoppe used almond flour and the macarooms also had hazelnuts. The curry in the Indian section (at the buffet for all meals) often had curries with cashews. I have no food allergies, so this wasn't an issue for me, but I can see people with nut allergies having some issues. For the record, the head chef is Indian and his Indian section was amazing. They even had a Starbucks. The entertainment was phenomenal. From the day to day game shows, musical performers, Jersey Boys musical and especially the comedy acts, we were ALWAYS entertained. We went to 3 comedy shows and were not disappointed, way better than the Yuk Yuk's we see here at home (Canada). This being said, the second you've got a minute on the ship (the first day!), book the things you want to see ASAP. Do not wait. There were some things we wanted to do that got booked up fast. There was so much to do, in so many different areas, we were never at a loss of what to do. The ship itself was stunning. High end finishes, literally a floating hotel. I cannot say enough good things about the state of the ship, it was beautiful to look at. I would suggest to explore options for your excursions. We just walked off the boat and did local shopping but a lot of people booked independent of NCL and got taxis and boats privately for way less money. People aren't kidding when they say the boat is empty on port days. It was great. We paid extra and got the week long spa pass. It was worth the money and totally relaxing. We spent 15 mins at the pool deck and weren't feeling it. We've done so many beach vacations, we were happy not having pool and sun days. The pools aren't large, smaller than I expected, but they did have tons of loungers that got held with towels first thing in the morning. Most people sunned themselves, not many people went into the salt water pools. Definitely check out the observation deck. Great views and relaxing atmosphere. Great loungers, chairs and couches. Snacks, coffee, juices are always available. Overall, we had a fantastic experience. The staff are top notch, always accommodating and senior staff keep close checks on everyone. Would definitely recommend this ship, not sure we can go back to all inclusives anyore lol Read Less

Friends of ours are latitude members and we share the same birthday and decided to cruise together to celebrate. The crew was very friendly and helpful. Embarkation was so simple and easy. Disembarkation was a little more confusing when it was time to find your luggage. They put our luggage in another section of the warehouse and did not inform us, so it took a little longer to find it. Then trying to get out of the warehouse was difficult. They kept telling us to go to different areas to leave. The ship was very clean and they were on top of keeping your hands washed everywhere you went. The cabin was clean, but a little small. We had a balcony, but unfortunately on our way south we could not sit out there because the spray from the water was keeping the balcony wet. Every morning we had to wipe down the railing and the glass from the spray from the night and day before. The ports we went to were beautiful. Tortilla we had the BEST excursion. The drivers were so friendly and very informative about their islans. This was the 4x4 Tour. Out excursion in St. Thomas we were VERY DISAPPOINTED in it. It is called St. Thomas tour and shopping. It was a drive up the mountain to the gift shop then down the mountain to the beach and then after 21/2 hours they picked us up and then dropped us off in the downtown shopping area. Not a mention of the island’s history or any information about the island was discussed at all. Would not recommend this tour at all. Our last stop was in Nassau and we just walked around. We did go shopping at Diamonds International with Amber and Sam and received a great price on jewelry. Read Less

I chose this due to timing with my children being off of college & the ports we would see w/ great weather. Everything pre-cruise was a nightmare trying to contact anyone. I had over 9 hours of hold time and no call backs & the supervisor did not help. Could not get dinner or show reservations I had previously booked. My kids got stuck on the “awesome water slide” & has to wait in a hatch until they were let out (they weigh almost 150# & should be able to make the turn), the race track is slow and costs $9 for 4 laps. The kiosks did not work to book shows on a “new” ship and you had to wait in long “guest service “ lines. There are no chairs available at the pool. The staff were not very friendly. We got sick on oysters at the steak restaurant. No one seems to care at all about our experience. I tried to contact nick but it says that page took a permanent vacation after I was again on hold for over 30 minutes to get that site info! Beware of ncl! The “freestyle “ allows you to hold up reservations & not show w/no consequences while leaving empty seats for food enters. Terrible program! Read Less

For a new ship it was rather underwhelming, the about to be remodeled Royal Caribbean ship I went on 11 years ago was more impressive. It felt like most things were geared toward those in the Haven. Also to have the added fee for the entertainment that did not include things like alcoholic beverages was ridiculous for me. When I cruise one thing I have come to expect is good entertainment comes with the cruise. So unfortunately, we did not get to enjoy any of the shows that were put on in the Bliss Theater besides the movie Jurassic World, Fallen Kingdom in 3D. There were a lack of activities to do, besides ones that were going to have an additional cost to take part in. Plus the atrium was often to small for the entertainment that was worth attending. A large disappointment for several people we were on the cruise with was the fact they never got a chance to go on go-carts. Not sure why there was a reservation process for go-carts. That is really any activity that would be better done by stand-by only. The pool area felt like everyone was stacked one on top of the other and the music was unnecessarily loud, that my husband and myself never bothered to go there. That was extremely disappointing because the pool is always one of the places I want to go first. To make matters worse the way the pools were set up was crazy to me. In the main pool area the larger main pool should not be adult only. The largest disappointment of the entire cruise was the food and the service that went with some of it. To start do not advertise that there are three "different" complimentary dining options with "different" styles of food, when they all end up having the same menu. The first night we went to Savor with two other people. It took two different people and a ridiculously long time for two of us to get alcoholic beverages. In addition, almost every time we went to a sit down place, whether it was specialty or not, if there were more than two people everyone did not get their food at the same time. In some cases half the table would not receive their food until the others were basically done with theirs. If the other half were to have waited for all the food theirs would have been cold by the time they ate it. We have never waited so long in any restaurant as we did every time we did not go the Garden Café, which was self serve. Now the thing we look forward to the most on a cruise is the food. The food was pretty much the same no matter where we ate. To start, the food was so good in the main dining rooms that we ended up at the Garden Café shortly after. The Local food plain and simply sucked. There was only one thing on that menu, with limited options, that my husband enjoyed which was the wings. Otherwise, there was nothing else on the menu that would get us down there at any hour. For a 24/7 location, it was not somewhere we ever wanted to eat. The Garden Café, oh where to start, it was somewhere to eat or the lesser of the evils. Food was almost never hot, unless it was a fresh batch of fries. It got to the point we did not even bother going for breakfast. One time the pancakes were so old and dried out they could barely be cut with a butter knife. I am a huge, huge pasta person and not once was I able to get any. There was a pasta area, was always serving something that did not look appetizing. Really wish there had been the option to have plain noodles. Everyday they advertised dinner themes, however not once did we really see anything that was different. We are also huge dessert people, I have never seen so many people take one bite and push it aside. The occasional plain brownie, ice cream, and jello where the only real options. We paid more money for this cruise then we had on past cruises with Royal Caribbean and as a result were expecting more. We got far, far less! Like I stated at the beginning, the cruise 11 years ago on an outdated ship was better than this one on a brand new ship. Read Less

We chose Norwegian over the other cruise lines because of the "Free-Style" dining concept. You can eat, drink and party anytime you want. We went to Hawaii on the Pride of America and it was spectacular. This trip we were on the Bliss. Brand new. Gargantuan. We always get a balcony and love it. The entertainment always keeps you on the move. Plenty to choose from. Also, the poolside activities are hilarious. We embarked and went to the Sugarcane Mojito Bar. Bob, the "Chocolate Cowboy" made us feel welcome and part of the entire ship family immediately. The experiences just kept going. The main dining rooms were always ready to serve. Never had to wait and never ran out of selections. We never ran across a single negative employee. They always stopped what they were doing to help you if you needed it. They also knew when to leave you alone. Two things that weren't up to our standards were the shore excursions and the final port. We went snorkeling in St. Thomas. It was OK but it didn't hold a candle to the snorkeling in Hawaii. We also went to Balmoral Island beach break. Save your money. We had to walk a long way to a pier through so many vendors and taxi drivers. You can keep Nassau. It seemed dirty and the vendors were unfriendly, rude and seemed like they expected you to spend a lot of money. Our agent said: "Stay on the ship" and she was right. St. Thomas and Tortola were pretty cool. The other down side to our experience was the smoking. Our neighbor, on the first night tried to have a smoke. As soon as he lite it I could smell it. We brought it to the attention of guest services who very promptly addressed the issue. But we were helpless. There were others even though they have a special section for smokers. I only hope Norwegian ( or any other cruise line) comes up with a "non-smokers" cruise. I'll be the first to sign up. Would we go again? ABSOLUTLY!! Read Less
