Fun times, Beautiful locations, the suite was roomy and the decor was done very nicely. A couple side notes ... if your gambling or playing any games like scratch offs that pay out cash be careful. We were told that our winnings were going in our account. However they never did. When we went back we were time that they dint do that. Winning get paid out in cash. The same attendant was there and just had a smirk on his face so we knew he was lying. Luckily it wasn’t much. One other thing to keep in mind. The room service...it is ok ! Probably because they get prepaid a specific amount regardless of what care they provide. Don’t get me wrong it wasn’t terrible, just could have been a bit better. Especially being the price we paid for a suite for two if us. We had two adjoining suite rooms which the balconies couldn’t even be open. A little disappointed. Food was good, service ok Shows good except Havana. Kind of boring. I think I actually dozed off in that one. Read Less

We had friends going on this cruise so we joined them. It was our first cruise. I loved sitting out on the balcony at night you could see so many stars. The food was great. We did have to wait a long time at Cagney's, they gave us extra drinks to compensate. There is always something to do on ship. We didn't do some activities we wanted to as we were still at another activity. Warning! Don't have beads in your hair if you want to do the waterslide! LOL Actually the only thing that upset me was the smoking area. On the aft sundeck you are squeezed into a small area when they could have made half the deck smoking. The bar could even be on the non-smoking side. I know there will be backlash to the smoking area, but just asking for a little room to move and not having people squished in like sardines in a can. All said we had a great time! Read Less

Was cruising with a group of 30 people and I think we all had a great time. The staff on this ship was very professional and personable, I was very impressed. The housekeeping staff was great, they kept the place so clean. I loved the food and the variety of choices. The best beach was Jost Van Dyke and wish we had more time there. And less time in Nassau however for kids the water park at Blue Laggon was great for them. There was a lot of kids on boat some, unsupervised and acting up. I had drinks at most bars and loved how some was low key and som full of laughter. The observation lounge was a great place to relax, read a book or just watch the waves. I wish the Atrium was larger and able a accomindate more people The guest services desk is right next to it and when an activity was going on it was difficult to speak to an agent because it was to loud. I would recommend this ship and cruise. Read Less

We joined with the group '5 o clock somewhere' featuring 'Jimmy Buffet' and country western music for an Eastern Caribbean cruise. We were aware that Norwegian has the best 'cruise ship' reputation in the trade. Norwegian lived up to our expectations and more. The food was superb, the service was excellent and the crew was extremely efficient and well organized. We danced on the aft deck to live music, which was incredibly romantic. Our cabin, a bedroom suite with a walkout balcony on the 12th deck, was made up three times per day and spotlessly clean. It was a dream vacation. The swimming pool area might be an issue for some as fellow travelers 'tagged' tightly, packed lounge chairs .... which were never vacated. We live in Florida and we have a pool, so we really didn't mind. The kids aboard loved the water slides! The ship's entertainment and off-shore excursions were brilliant. I would highly recommend the 'Nassau/Bahamas open buggy tour' (ATV's). Our guide took us through a maze of streets and traffic in the 'old quarter' and spoke knowledgeably about historical highlights and newer features (ie Atlantis). We visited areas, heard about every day life, laughed at the guard chickens at the rum distillery (they are huge!) and ate an excellent lunch in a local restaurant off the tourist path. A one in a million experience that can only be had with a Bahamian native. Many years ago I crewed on luxury yachts and I would like to compliment both the Captain and crew for their excellence and hard work. The Captain imparted an easy confidence and I felt comfortable and confident aboard his ship at all times. We are already planning our next cruise with Norwegian! Read Less

My first cruise was the Eastern Caribbean in 1989 on Carnival Cruise Line Jubilee. This makes my 10th Year’s Anniversary of cruising. I wanted to go back to my first cruise to celebrate my anniversary. I enjoy cruising with NORWEGIAN Cruise line, i got a special invation to the Officers Wine and Dine Dinner.and a invation to a special Anniversary Social Event. I wanted to go on their new ship the Bliss .That is a beautiful ship, the employees, food, entertainment and service was excellent. When I call the service desk to ask for something it was done or deliver right away. What I like about that ship to is they have a Starbucks Coffee and lots of hot tubs on the ship. The Casino had all the up-to-date Slot Machines, race car track, bowling lane, Laser tag. What I didn’t like was you had to put your room key down into a slot on the wall behind you entire door in order for the lights and Electric plugs to work in your room. Overall I rate my Cruise as A A A A A. I would like to go on this ship again. Read Less

My travel agent told me about the Bliss and it was truly amazing! Sure an awesome staff, great food, great entertainment and what a breathtaking ship! We came home and booked the Encore one day later doe the same week next year. I will never sail with any other cruise line! Thank you NCL!! The ports we're perfect, we had fun in the casino, we played bingo and meet so many new friends. The staff was so accommodating! We can't wait to go back! We will continue to make memories on NCL for years to come! My fiance loves cruising now! We will take our kids when they get older as well! Way to go NCL! Read Less

My daughter choose this ship because of the date 1-19-19 was her wedding day. She was married at the end of the South beach pier and immediately went to the Bliss to embark on a wonderful celebration of her and Ryan's wedding. The embarkation and the disembarkation were very smooth. Our state room was right next to the elevators and our stateroom was still very quite. The ship is beautiful and the service was the best we have ever experienced and this was our 10th cruise. Our wedding group of 34 was treated like royalty everywhere and especially in the main Dinning room The Manhattan. My daughter and new son-in-law were very happy and now have new memories to last a life time. The entertainment was the very best a ship can offer from Jersey Boy, Havana, and all the comedy offered. The food was great from the Garden Café, the 3 main dinning rooms, and the Local Pub. The Spa was outstanding and the Observation Deck was quite, comfy, and relaxing with views of beauty looking over the ocean and ports. What a wonderful experience we all enjoyed. Hard to believe there was over 4500 guest on board. Read Less

Did this cruise with a group of 26 people. While the ship was overall beautiful and the food and drinks were great, the price was way too high for what you got. We got the unlimited drink package and the 4 night specialty dining option. While the food and drinks were amazing, the service in 2 of the main dining halls (The Manhattan Room and Taste) were terrible. Took over 2 hours just to get our food and we were seated right when they opened. If you didn't book a reservation for any of the other specialty restaurants or the 3 main dinning halls when you first got on and had to be right when they start boarding, you had to wait to eat a nice dinner at almost 8-9 pm or go eat in the buffet. The one comedy show I was able to see had some very funny comedians and Jersey Boys was awesome but trying to get into these shows was terrible. They put you in a stand by line if you don't have reservations and if people show up 10-15 mins late, they still let these groups in. Wasn't fair in my opinion to those that were there 10-15 mins prior to showtime to get a seat waiting in stand by. Same with the Go-Karts and Laser Tag. The Go-Karts were fun but not worth the extra $10 in my opinion. The staff at the go-kart track was terrible and they let young kids (8-9 yrs old) race that cant even see over the steering wheel, barely reaching the pedals, are not staying over in the right lane so you end up running into them if they can't make the turn. They also get mad if you accidently bump into someone who crashed or cut right in front of you. They also don't even have a standby line for any solo racers so they would let 8 karts go in one and then send out 5 in the next group. Also, you would book a time for 3pm but wouldn't even race until almost and hour later. Also good luck if it rains because if so, they cancel your race without being able to rebook and just give you back your money. Not really fair in my opinion. Both activities they just show you a video and then let you go. Overall the reservation system is total garbage. Outside of those, the Cabin/stateroom is very nice and the staff take very good care of your room and your belongings. Overall, its nice if you just want a getaway but not worth the extra money they nickel and dime you for. Would much rather be back on Carnival next time. Read Less

Cruise Notes [15792] This was our 5th cruise - 1 carnival, 4 Norwegian [Sun, Pearl, Escape, Bliss] Pros :: Interior - Observation Lounge: Comfy and quiet, except for the front row (noise from Garden Cafe). Many many seats, everyone can see outside. Room: Our standard balcony room was essentially the same as the other ships we have been on. Maintenance had to come twice when the toilet would not flush. Activties: Go Carts had fun, nice cars, and a short wait time when we arrived at our appointment time. Glad to see that putt-putt was not missing. The water slides looked fun and the lines dind't seem overly long. Did not break into the budget to play laser tag, and it did not seem to be very busy at any time, even though it was also "sold out". Shows: Havana was good music, but no plot. Jersey Boys was probably the best show we've seen on a ship. Tried (and failed once) to see Beatlemania in the Cavern Club. Club is too small -- but a very good size to handle our small group (50 person) meetings. Open the shutters and pipe that music to the outside bar so that more people can enjoy. Outdoor decks: The deck 8 "Promenade" has a lot of outside, quiet. non-pool seating. Putting the hot tubs on the level above the pool is a great way to add access to water. The area outside the Vibe Club was a good quiet area to get away from the rowdier poolside crowd. The jumbotron at the pool was great for watching playoff football. Dining - Garden Cafe: Good variety, even Indian food. Best general lunch buffet we've seen so far, visited three different days. Ate twice at The Local - ok pub food, nothing exceptional. Cagney's was good, as always. Los Lobos had a huge amount of food per order. The menu at the Manhattan Room, and Taste/Savor were above average. The Q had adequate barbeque, a serviceable example of Americana for foreign travelers. Crepes at Coco's were a treat. Don't miss the macaroons at the Bake Shop. Cons: Dining: The chefs at Teppanyaki were overly loud, excessively banging metal objects - legitimate potential migraine triggers. Beware of Margaritaville - its $15-$18 per person, just to sit down. This was a huge waste of prime space on a ship that needs more room for hot tubs and deck chairs. Of course, it was empty most of the time. At the bars, with all of the free drink packages being sold, the staff are easily the most worn out and impatient on the ship. Indoors: Beware of getting a room midship, ESPECIALLY on Deck 15. You will be awake as long as there's something going on in the pool area (a party every night), and our bed was literally ~vibrating~ until after 11pm during the final night's party. Then, at 6am, be prepared to hear the deck chairs rattle your room again, as they are literally -thrown- back into place on deck. If you are lucky, you might even catch a whiff of smoky flavor from the Q. Outdoor decks: As others have mentioned - there's one sole tiny adult pool. The music at the pool is OBNOXIOUSLY loud. Lounge chairs are jammed so close together, you cannot access them from the sides - you have to climb onto them from the end. Dozens of people entertained themselves watching a majority of the water-tube riders fail to make the loop. Parents were freely allowing their kids into the hot tubs, instead of routing them to splash park. Logistics/Ambiance: Something is very deeply wrong with the scheduling and logistics on this ship. Or, perhaps they were short-staffed. Prior to leaving port, we could not get a reservation at Ocean Club. When a couple cancelled their reservation to dine with us elsewhere, on a different night. the system told them they had still dined there. When we ate at other restaurants that were listed as "fully booked" - Q, Cagney's, and Los Lobos, they were always FAR from capacity, over a 90+ minute span. The Brewhouse menu still had the Alaska taps listed, and did not have the All-Star souvenirs avaialble. We watched contestants in the Atrium events compete for $5 koozies and cupcakes, instead of $20 t-shirts and bottles of wine. These reservation snafus extended to the Vibe Club as well. A year ago, we had an amazing cruise - we were in the first 500 people on board, and raced down to get passes to Vibe Club. We had other friends and family get day passes to join us, to get a "VIP" experience. This trip, we had ther priorities, but we heard from other 2017 Escape / Vibe cruisers that the line "sold out" after the 16th person in line. We heard that there were only 40 passes sold. Every day when we looked, the club was no more than 1/3 full - we never saw 30 people there, even in the middle of a sunny at-sea day. When we tried to get day passes to visit with friends, we were told at Guest Services that "they don't do that on this ship". Most of the time, there were 20+ people in line at Guest Services throughout the cruise. If the Bliss management goal was to confuse and frustrate repeat cruisers, spiff the customer as little as possible, and cheapen the entire cruise experience - mission accomplished ! Still -- can't wait for our first Alaska cruise in July, and the Breakaway next January. Read Less

All the staff is very friendly and polite. The restaurants served the best food, the staff sprayed your hands with sanitizer to avoid the Nuro virus, all around the ship you can find sanitizer containers. Washy washy everyday. The spa with the sauna, salt room and cold room were refreshing. The shows were very entertaining . The room was comfortable, you learn to move around with someone else in the room. Look all around the room because their is extra space for clothes under the couch. Shopping is available at discounted prices on the ship. The person that took care of our cabin needs was the best, anything that we requested for the room, he ensured that we received it. The specialty dining was the best by far, the greatest. The toilet paper could be softer , the mattress could have been softer, but it is your own opinion whether you like soft or firm. You can request a softer mattress before your cruise. Read Less

This is a beautiful ship. We had a mini suite and thought the bathroom was great. It had a huge double sink with 2 faucets and a big shower. Worth the extra charge for sure! The room is a bit smaller than Celebrity Ships I've been on width wise but same length. Nice room. Ample storage for clothes. The only thing I'd recommend is bring a light of some sort for the bathroom otherwise you have to turn the overhead light on during the night. We thought the food was pretty good on the ship. We did speciality dining 6 of the 7 nights and thought the food and service were really good. Ate one night in Taste, the regular dining room and thought the food was pretty good there too. We did breakfast almost every morning at either Taste or Savor and thought they were great. Service was good too. The ship is easy to navigate. Sometimes elevators are a bit full but another one comes along fairly quickly. Thought embarkation and debarkation were very easy. Everyone on the ship always has a smile and really tries hard to make your experience a good one. The Observation lounge is a great place to hang out plus they serve food all day long and there is a bar if you want a drink. As the week went along, more people found this treasure. They have comfortable furniture for reading and just watching the water. Neither of us had the drink package but we did notice that with all the people that did have it, bars were open everywhere on the ship all day long. When we were on Celebrity, it was pretty hard to find a bar open during the day except at the pool. Loved the outside deck that surrounds the specialty restaurants. Great place to hang out on the couches or to take a walk or get a drink. Really nice atmosphere and great place to watch the sun rise or set. On other ships this type of deck view is blocked by the life boats. The boats are on deck 7 on the Bliss a deck below Deck 8 where the specialty restaurants are. The ship definitely has places to view the water all the time; something that was lacking on Royal Caribbean's mega ships. On that ship, I felt like I was floating on an island where I rarely saw the water. NCL knows how to bring the ocean into the cruise experience especially when you eat outside at the specialty restaurants. Now here are my cons about the ship. The pool area is crowded and the music is SO LOUD it literally hurt my ears. I was surprised parents let their little ones hang out there...it was deafening. Actually we found the music was too loud almost everywhere. Couldn't hear the words to the music when bands played. Only the instruments. Love the adult solarium on Celebrity and Royal Caribbean. NCL has a small adult area with chairs and a bar. The only problem is there is no shade even with 3 or 4 small umbrella's. Too bad cause that would have been great. Now for the shows. I liked Jersey boys although its a shorter version of the Broadway production. I left 15 minutes into Havanna. I couldn't get into it. Saw the comedienne's. Hard to get into The Social Club so appreciated the show that happened in the theater one time during the week. Liked the Beatle's tribute although again the music was so loud in a tiny venue. I missed a regular show that you could catch at either 7:30 or 9:30 on Celebrity ships. You always had to make reservations for the shows and they didn't always coincide with the times booked before you get on the ship at the specialty restaurants. Lots of stuff happened in the atrium. It's way too small for the purpose it serves for some of the shows there like the Newlywed game. People were everywhere with no seats. The theater would be a better choice for that and later in the night. The cruise director tried to make it sort of risqué yet there were young kids around cause it was pretty early. Overall, its a great ship that is staffed well. Like I mentioned earlier, the staff is always smiling and trying to make your experience a good one. I would like to see the music at a decibel that doesn't bust your eardrums and make your ears ring along with a show you could see every night with a 7:30-8:30 reservation. (Most shows were in the Atrium then) There is something for every age on this ship for sure!!!! Read Less

We booked this cruise to see this so called wonderful ship with a group of 14 friends. Found the ship to be nice to look at but too hard to navigate. Elevators forward and aft only made it difficult to get where you needed to go on this massive ship. The cabin was as nice as any other balcony on NCL. The real drawback was the lack of interest in the smokers by the design of the smoking areas. H2O had a small side section for smokers which was always packed while the rest of the H2O area was sparsely occupied. I do give qudos to the bar staff of Sam, Marvin and that crew for the wonderful service trhey provided. The Casino are that was walled off for smokers was hard to get a machine at times and could use a bit more ventilation, very Smokey even for the smokers, while the huge main casino area was again sparsely being used. Food was OK, except the meal we had in Cagneys, normally one of the best restaurants on a NCL ship, the Oysters Rockefeller was cold and mushy. This was prior to the meal which left a terrible after taste. The Havana show was not worth seeing but the highlight was the Jersey Boys. Had to try this ship once but I will stick with the Getaway and the Jade class ships from now on. Read Less

The cruise was very enjoyable. If you opt for the dining package be sure to get reservations for the prime restaurants immediately upon initial boarding. If you wait you may not be able to experience (or even use your package) for the good food joints . We enjoyed Cagnie's and the tappanyaki tremendously. We were not able to use our third day of dining which really sucked! We also used the spa package for my wife to attend the spa area every day, It was reasonable for the services and comfort provided. We also did a couples massage which was a horrible experience. Firstly we were in a room with large windows (not a bad thing) but as we were in port, the darn window washers conducted cleaning in the middle of our massage! Loud and zero privacy! Then came the billing (unfortunate) event...we were charges an unbelievable amount and was clearly "Bait and switch" as they described the fees as "starting from" and not actually reflecting the simple costing for two people at a fixed rate (even supposedly discounted as we were still in port!!!) for 75 minutes stone work. I would highly recommend timing or filming the event as proof/evidence that they cannot tell time accurately as well. GET WHAT YOU PAID FOR is my best advice - be a smart consumer! Also to note that after our trip I compared our bill to my friends (who had a couples message with his wife at the exact same time as ours) and was charged much less for the treatment. They also force an 18% gratuity which in our case would have been closer to zero given the shorting on time and very rude interruption by the window washers. My wife did enjoy what she experienced so all was not lost in the spa realm. The room attendant was great. The room was very clean as was our balcony. a lounge chair would have been useful as the chairs were Wal-mart specials and very uncomfortable. Read Less

I am Elite on Princess (40 sailings) but wanted a bit more excitement than they offer and I have frequently sailed on Celebrity. I've sailed on Norwegian (Pearl, Epic, Gateaway and Bliss) four times. I was traveling with a group of 16 and the group wanted a fun-time with a younger environment so we selected the Bliss. I was most excited to sail on the Bliss. The Bliss is a beautiful ship with a wonderful observation area on 15, staterooms are beautiful, disembarkation and embarkation was the best of any cruise. The Bliss is very clean and the staff was wonderful. My stateroom was on deck 14 two floors below deck 16 which is often times referred to as the Lido deck on other ships. I could hear the music starting around 11:00 am and ending around 12:00 or later every evening. Never an opportunity for nap if you are a light sleeper-- music mostly all day and night. I experienced a squeaking/knocking sound coming from the sliding door for better than fours days before I called the Customer Service Desk which they repaid and sent a wonderful gift for any inconvenience this may have caused. I was not able to see any shows due to no open reservation (you have to make a reservation) or partake in the racing cars because they were booked up quickly or only late night appointments were available. The one treat that I love most on all Norwegian cruises is the coconut sherbet. To my disappointment they had no coconut sherbet. The food on the buffet was average although the oxtails and chicken gumbo was outstanding. Seating in what they call the Garden Cafe was a bit of a challenge during lunch and breakfast but you would eventually find a place as on most ships. The Fitness Center was outstanding with wonderful hours. You can get on the treadmill at 6:00 am. With all side I would sail again staying on a lower deck away from deck 16 and making reservation as soon as i get on the ship. Read Less
