We chose this cruise because Bermuda was on my husband's bucket list. We had sailed this ship a couple times before. We stayed the night before at a hotel where we could leave our car. We had heard horror stories of carnival's parking. I know the ship is old but I like mid size ships. Getting around was not bad. Good lay out. buffet food not so good. Our cabin steward was great. ...
Carnival changed our itinerary from Bermuda to the Bahamas due to hurricane Lee. While we were really looking forward to experiencing Bermuda again after 11 years, we fully understand that the safety of the crew, passangers and ship have to come first.
Fortunately, the weather was beautiful in the Bahamas. We enjoyed our day at Half Moon Cay swimming in the clear, blue water. The revamped ...
We didn't get to spend 3 days in Bermuda due to hurricane. Instead we went to the Bahamas. Carnival gave us $200 OBC which we used for the Chef's table. I'm fine with Safety first.
The Cabin was fine; bed was comfortable, and our Steward was terrific. Internet was good; better than my experiences on HAL & Celebrity.
Dining was good. Steakhouse Green Eggs & Ham & Chef's table exceeded ...
At the request of 2 family members I chose a short get-a-way and it was a balcony cabin for $70...can't beat that.
I've taken 12 carnival cruises but this was my first one since I switched over to NCL 5 years ago. I'd heard these nightmare stories about fights and embarkation issues and debarkation issues ( some of these are more port related than Carnival related) so I wasn't expecting much ...
Chose this ship because it sailed out of our home port area. The convince of leaving from a home port is a plus. This was our third cruise but first time on Carnival. I wasn’t as impressed as I was on our Royal Caribbean cruises but we still had a great time. The dinning room food was just okay and shows were good but not enough variety.
We enjoyed the Best of Bermuda excursion. Though 5 ...
This review is more about the port than the cruise. We arrived by car and got in line to park at 11:00am. We didn't board the ship until 4:00pm! Norfolk is clearly not capable of handling a ship with this many passengers. The city cruise parking lot had one person taking money and there were not enough busses to transport everyone to the dock. Standing outside in 90+ degrees and high humidity was ...
Chose this cruise because departure port was close to home. Overall very satisfied. Excursion was cancelled because of wind, but we did get on another excursion. The cabin stewards and buffet area tables cleaning staff work extremely hard with barely a minutes break and did a fantastic job. This time cruising I was not too impressed with the lunch or dinner buffet. We did use other choices ...
We have traveled out of norfolk, va many times on carnival ships, we are platinum cruisers and have had much fun. Another couple came up from charlotte to go with us in a different cabin. This is their 4th time with us. The time for boarding was great however were were told to be on board by 3pm to leave at 4,but it was almost 5:30 pm when we left. People dont pay attention, they should be left ...
Sailed from Hometown for the First time, I must say it was great and also very convenient .
Downtown Norfolk, just 20 minuted from home,
The Sunshine was a nice Ship..... I sailed in an Ocean Suite. in the AFT of the ship..
The balcony was a little small, overall the room was nice. Two wrap sofas, one was a sleeper, Seperate bedroom that led out onto the balcony, bathroom had a tub with ...
value and close to home. the ship is set up well.it has the nicest serenity decks that we have seen on carnival.the whole staff wasvery nice.lee was a great cruise director.the five day itenarary isto rushed.if they decide to come back to norfolk it should be changed back to a sixday cruise.you have to cruise to fast both ways, which makes it uncomfortable when the seas are rough.the balcony on our ...
