I had a great time.
Pros:
Great Cruise Director and Assistant Cruise Director. They worked well together and really created a "fun" atmosphere.
Room with balcony. The room had outdated decor, but I loved the balcony. The shower had great water pressure. I wear earplugs at night, so I did not notice any noise issues.
Variety of activities. It is impossible to be bored on this ship. There is ...
We only had a few complaints on this cruise, so I will mention them first. The room service is VERY slow! We never waited less than an hour- usually closer to an hour and a half. The first night, when I was a little sea sick, I ordered room service for my kids for dinner. It took almost 2 hours to get to us. Also, our refrigerator was locked the entire 5 days. I'm glad we didn't need it. We had to ...
Since this was the last trip out of Norfolk, for reasons known only to the four cruise lines who have pulled out ( despite a well paid cruise director who resigned last month; I heard it was the high price of fuel..I guess fuel is much cheaper in Miami... and environmental regulations.), we decided to take the Carnival Glory and took our two teens.
We sailed on a Carnival ship ten years ago. Some ...
Traveled with my husband, father, and step mother! Embarkation was a breeze. Lines moved quickly! Our room was clean and our steward, Rudy, was GREAT! Our wait staff in the dining room was also GREAT: Vane, Alex and Gavin!!!! We had a booth just for our party of 4. We could order as many starters, entrees, desserts as we wanted. The food was ok most nights but formal night it was GREAT! The ...
This was my fourth cruise (2nd with Carnival), and my wife's 11th (1st with Carnival).
Embarkation out of Norfolk was a cut above any port we've ever left from. The Half Moone Cruise Terminal is beautiful, and right downtown, surrounded by restaurants, museums, and local sights.
The ship was wonderful. One of our favorite things about it was that, even when there were huge deck parties or loud ...
We sailed on the Carnival Glory out of Norfolk 10/20/13 - 10/25/13. The weather was gorgeous on embarkation as well as in the Bahamas and debarkation too which is always nice!!
We previously cruised on The Glory in 2012 before the 2.0 upgrade. We were very impressed with the 2.0 upgrades. My husband Joe and our good friend Ed enjoyed Guys Burgers and the fires more than they "needed" ...
First time on a Carnival cruise line. Usually cruise with RCI but thought we would try Carnival to compare the differences and since Carnival is cheaper, saving some money wouldn't hurt. We booked an inside cabin on the 7th level and it was small but comfortable and cheerfully decorated. Beds were comfortable but shower head was broken and had to be repaired. Fairly quiet most of the time but ...
We arrived at the Norfolk, VA port and the first thing you need to do is make sure your luggage has tags on it (you should have received an email from the cruise line giving your printable luggage tags). Our luggage arrived at our cabin about an hour after departure.
We felt secure entering ship. All officers did their job well checking bags etc.
There were plenty of activities for everyone; ...
Carnival is our last choice for a cruise but we (and when I say "we" I mean "I") were so desperate to get away for a few days and since Norfolk is 20 minutes away we decided to go for it. I sweetened the pot by getting an aft vista view cabin #7440.
The Good:
THE CABIN: The cabin was great. It was probably the second best we had next to the handicapped one we had after my wife broke her foot.. ...
I cruised on the Glory in January 2012 and was under-whelmed. It was okay but not sensational. So, I boarded her for the short cruise from Norfolk to the Bahamas not really expecting much. I did expect it to be my very last Carnival cruise.Things got off to a great beginning! We met our room steward, Arnold, and were immediately impressed with his gracious good manner. We expressed our pretty ...
