Good cruise, Terrible Port!
"The city cruise parking lot had one person taking money and there were not enough busses to transport everyone to the dock. This was the first turnaround day for Norfolk since the pandemic stopped cruises and hopefully things will improve, but when my first day of a 5-day cruise doesn't start until 4pm, I'm not happy...."Read More

I can’t stop thinking about this cruise. I mean it was amazing. From the room service, to evening dining. The servers, Rio, Frank, & Ricky, just great! Words can’t explain how great everything was. I can’t wait for our next cruise on Carnival Magic Excursion site: Grand Lucanyon Resort. Beautiful resort. I will say the food took a long time to be prepared though. Other than that, the pool & the ...

Night one we ate in the buffet which was good. Night 2 we went to the dining room. I had prime rib which was good. Night 3 and 4 we ate at the steakhouse. Steak and Lobster was awesome! Didn’t care for the lobster bisque- no lobster, French onion didn’t taste good either. My friend had the lamb chops and said they were really good. Night 5 back to the dining room- did the upgrade of 23.00 to get ...

Hurricane Lee sent us in a different direction!

Carnival changed our itinerary from Bermuda to the Bahamas due to hurricane Lee. While we were really looking forward to experiencing Bermuda again after 11 years, we fully understand that the safety of the crew, passangers and ship have to come first. Fortunately, the weather was beautiful in the Bahamas. We enjoyed our day at Half Moon Cay swimming in the clear, blue water. The revamped ...

We were scheduled to go to Bermuda but the night before departure, we were informed the hurricane was in our direct path so our plans changed to Nassau, Bahamas

We chose this cruise line because it was leaving from Norfolk, Va which is where we live. The arrival was easy with porters waiting to take our luggage on ship. We were able to go immediately to our cabin. WE were very impressed at how easy and well organized this trip was. Carnival had an app which was recommended to download once you arrive on the ship. The app - Carnival Hub - was a direct ...

We left out of Norfolk because it was convenient. Carnival was the only option leaving this port and this was my 4th cruise with Carnival. This cruise also had good ports of call. Embarkation was good. Excursions surpassed ship experiences. Food was poor. Service was ok. Cruise director was invisible. Teenagers were not as bad as others described but we were on a longer cruise. It was just meh. ...

Chaos began on Day 1 out of Norfolk, VA. Embarkation delayed due to surprise Coast Guard Inspection. Stewards were not able to clean/sanitize rooms and baths still had feces on it. Luggage extremely late being delivered, around 9:30. Monday we had early dining. Within 2 hours of eating, I began volatile vomiting and it continued all night long. Looking for something for my condition the medical ...

A Good Time on a Crowded Magic

Carnival Magic was pretty good, I'd give it a B+. We, as a party of 5 (my husband, my brother and his two kids aged 12 and 15) sailed her out of Norfolk to the Bahamas for a six night cruise. It was well-priced and easy enough to get to. Embarkation took about 45 minutes to an hour, from parking the car to shuttling to the terminal and checking in. There was a long line once parked to load the ...

Carnival did nothing special, but some of the friends made during the trip was worth it.

We, as newly weds, went on this cruise for our honeymoon. The captain did a good job dodging most of the storms in the area which I'm very thankful of. Cabin was standard ocean view with a pretty good attendant in Gede. Food service was attentive albeit very slow. I'm told by some of my fellow travelers that they were going and hour without even being acknowledged. I'm also not a fan of the ...

Worst experience ever!

My family and I had the worst experience on this cruise. First and for most, if you have young children this is not the cruise for you. My husband and I took our 3 and 6 year on this 5 night cruise and it was a disaster. The food choices for children are very limited. They don't offer a kids meal section except for during night time dining. They have what is referred to as Lido's market which is a ...

Great Time!

We had booked a cruise for our honeymoon in 2020 but, 2020 happened and we all know how that went. Overall on Magic we have no complaints. Now the obvious is that this ship needs some TLC. Maybe dry dock this ship for a year and Reno the entire ship. This being our first cruise we had no idea what to expect. One thing I would change is we bring our own luggage instead of checking it. We ...
