Deluxe Ocean-View Verandah Stateroom (VD) Cabin Reviews

We had connecting cabins 4151 and 4155 - adults in one cabin and children in the other. We had plenty of space for 6 people’s belongings. It was hard to move around 4155 when all 4 beds were up at night. We were able to open the ... Read More

It was hard to move around 4155 when all 4 beds were up at night. We were able to open the dividers between the balconies to have one large balcony which was great. Wonderful cabin stewards, very quiet location but convenient to Aft elevators and stairs. Deck 4 balconies are bigger than balconies of verandah cabins on other decks. Read Less

The cabin is designed well with plenty of storage. The balcony was nice. The decor was dated and could use an update. The room was very quiet, though we could hear when the anchor is deployed and the room vibrated when the starboard bow thruster was engaged when the ship was maneuvering onto a dock. It was a little bit of a walk to the nearest stairs or elevators, but we liked the location. We also had cabin 6001 which is across the hall. that cabin has a nice big ocean view window that faces foward and has a great view. Read Less

Cabins and bathrooms are in need of an update and refresh. There was great storage, and new large TVs were just installed. Stewards were great.

Disappointing : Cabin 4005
Needs refurbishing. Toilet wouldn't flush several times. Position of shower head difficult to adjust. Solid steel side of the verandah meant we couldnlt see the ocean when we sat out on the verandah.

Having twin beds makes the already small room feel even smaller. No room for dancing or swinging even small cats. On the plus side I found that there was enough storage but not much drawer space, used shelves mainly and my packing cubes worked well here. Took a day or three to realise there was a double USB charge point - it was hidden behind HAL books in a vertical book rack on the small desk. There was just enough room for a lap top and tablet and two phones when all were plugged in. Not much room for much else. The bathroom had been updated and looked more modern than on my previous HAL cruises. Shower over bath with a decent curtain although Tony would have prefered shower only as she is vertically challenged and not keen on high sided bathtubs. No problem for me. Having a tub meant the rest of the bathroom lacked room. Not a lot of room around the hand basin but sufficient for our needs. There was plenty of room for stuff on an under sink shelf. There was also a small wall cabinet on one side but we didn't need it. I liked that there was a magnetic door holder to hold the door fully open if required. The balcony was adequate with two loungers with foot stools and a small table. Everything about our accomodation was in good order and there was nothing we could complain about. Read Less
