Spent three nights in Nice pre-cruise then experienced the smoothest embarkation ever. Out of the taxi, luggage whisked away, straight onto the ship where check in was in the Cabaret Lounge. Got our key cards, grabbed a glass of bubbly and went to sit in the Mosaic Café. Decided to have lunch in the Windows Café and it was lovely. Really liked that you were served in the buffet rather than ...
It was to be a luxury cruise with family members. Despite completing all pre boarding requirements it took over an hour. We were asked to show our passports four times. Poor organization!
Food choices an d preparation outstanding. service tried hard but often inexperienced.
Excursions few and poor. Nightly entertainment the worse I’ve seen. Disliked open seating. Never the same waiter or ...
We boarded our BA flight at 9.30 and took off just after 10.00 am. We arrived in Nice at 2.30-ish and boarded the coach for the transfer to the ship. Once we arrived at the port we found that the usually well-organised embarkation was certainly lacking. First we were told to wait in a queue where passengers were collecting their luggage tags for the ship, which we didn't need to do as ours were ...
We chose this as our first ocean cruise because it took us to many places we had not seen before including Croatia. 35 days seemed a long time on boarding but it was so good the time flew. We enjoyed every port, every meal, and every moment.
The ship is small enough that we never had to line up for anything including meals and disembarking. The crew including the captain are great and they ...
This was actually a charter so different from anything on the Azamara offerings. 30 ports throughout both the Western and Eastern Mediterranean.
1. Ship cannot be faulted in any way. Recently undergoing a refurb, the public rooms were redone in beautiful subtle and rich tones and textures. Lots of different places to "hang out".
2. Food was plentiful and very varied. There are 2 restaurants ...
This was our fourth cruise via Star Clippers and a disappointment. Our accommodations were fine and the overall service was great, especially in the dining room. The Hotel Manager (Arnold Deutchl) was exceptionally helpful and competent.
Unfortunately the Cruise Director (Monica) was only interested in promoting excursions and next year's cruises. She was unwilling or incapable of ...
Having great expectations of the Azamara Quest we thought they fell short of their rating. The good thing about a small ship was the ease of moving around and never having that 'crowded' feeling that can happen on a larger ship.
The library/drawing room is fabulous as is the Looking Glass lounge. All staff are very pleasant and helpful.
The Mosaic cafe provided excellent hot chocolate and ...
We are 4th time SD cruisers-and were so excited to experience our 2nd time in the Med on a SD cruise. We were very disappointed with all the areas that SD makes the difference. Firstly-the Activities Director-Daniel-was less than attentive at follow up and never once did I see him personally on an excursion- (that were all too long and way over priced as compared to the past experiences). He ...
My husband and I have sailed many times before on Princess, Carnival, Norwegian, as well as Crystal and Oceana; so while we had some idea of what to expect on a cruise, sailing on a small yacht was a whole new experience for us and we loved it!!
We arrived a few days ahead of disembarkation, giving us time to enjoy Nice, and its environs such as Cannes. We stayed at Best Western Hotel ...
We took a 4-day Nice to Rome, stayed on the ship, and returned to Nice on the July 2 7-day cruise. This gave us 11 days of beautiful ports. We loved visiting Elba and Corsica twice and still would like to return to each. We both agree that Portofino is one of the most beautiful ports we have ever been to. Oh, to return there as well. From Monaco, we took buses to the Ephrussi-Rothschild mansion ...
