(4 p.m. EDT) -- Broadway star Rachel York has been named godmother of Crystal Debussy, one of two Crystal River Cruises luxury ships launching this spring.

The christening for Crystal Debussy will take place in Amsterdam on May 28. Following the ceremony, York will board Crystal Mahler as part of the line's Crystal on Broadway program, on a sailing that ends in Budapest. The Crystal on Broadway program, developed in partnership with producer Kevin McCollum, brings stars onboard select sailings for performances and presentations; York has become a passenger favorite.

"Rachel's tremendous talents and charm transcends demographics and connects with audiences throughout the world," said Tom Wolber, president and CEO of Crystal. "We are so pleased she is part of the Crystal family, as her grace and passion for excellence are representative of the experience found aboard Crystal voyages."

York will be in an upcoming Broadway musical "Head Over Heels," featuring songs by the Go-Gos; the show goes into previews in late June, with a July 26 opening at the Hudson Theatre.

Crystal Debussy will be the second new Crystal River ship debuting in May. Crystal Ravel embarks on May 10, sailing from Basel to Vienna. The 106-passenger ships are identical to Crystal Mahler and Crystal Bach, which launched in 2017. Crystal River has a fifth ship, Crystal Mozart, which kicked off the line in 2016.
