(5:20 p.m. EST) -- Luxury cruise line Silversea has recently added opera and ballet themed sailings to its collection of Enriched Voyages, which also include culinary and wine themed itineraries.
Three cruises will be opera themed and feature four soloists from the Academy of Lyric Opera at Milan's La Scala Theater Academy who will perform famous librettos for passengers onboard. Departures include:
- September 28, 2018, Silver Muse voyage from Venice to Athens
- April 25, 2019, Silver Spirit voyage from Barcelona to Rome
- October 22, 2019, Silver Shadow voyage roundtrip from Athens
On Silver Muse's August 19, 2018, cruise from Venice to Monte Carlo, ballet soloists Daria Khokhlova and Artemy Belyakov, of the State Academic Bolshoi Theater of Russia, will come aboard and perform for passengers. The ship's March 21, 2019 sailing from Singapore to Hong Kong will also feature ballet soloists, but the performers are yet to be named.
For both opera and ballet themed sailings, passengers will have the opportunity to attend lectures and Q&A sessions with the artists and chat with them at a cocktail party.
"We are thrilled and honored to welcome such extraordinary talent from the performing arts," said Barbara Muckermann, Silversea's chief marketing officer. "I know our guests on these exclusive voyages will be both enriched and inspired by the exceptional onboard entertainment experience."
