(9 a.m. EST) -- Brand-new ship MSC Seaside will feature improv comedy and seven Broadway-style shows with more flexible times, MSC Cruises revealed Monday.
Through a partnership with North American improv comedy troupe BeerProv, the vessel will offer unscripted comedy sketches fueled by audience suggestions. The shows will take place six nights a week.
In a statement, MSC has also released details of four of seven Broadway-inspired productions, which "include something for movie fans, with 'My Life in Music' presenting the most famous movie soundtracks performed live onstage, as well as something for vintage music fans, with 'The Dream.' Another eye-catching show, 'The Wizard,' will feature breathtaking illusions, and 'Peter Punk' provides a fresh new take on the famous story of Peter Pan."
The shows -- put on by a cast of five singers, 15 dancers and 14 variety artists -- will be offered on a rotating basis with as many as four performed nightly, starting from 6 p.m., allowing passengers more flexibility.
Additionally, Seaside will host concerts that range from opera to Latin, accompanied by piano soloists and vocalists.
All comedy shows, Broadway productions and concerts will take place in the 934-seat Metropolitan Theatre.
The line has also stepped up its entertainment offerings for younger cruisers. Seaside's kids clubs will feature an expanded LEGO partnership, 3D printers and virtual reality games, as well as gameshows and other activities.
Parents wanting more time with their kids can take advantage of twice-per-sailing family movies screened in the theater, as well as child-parent playtime in the kids club at scheduled times.
Parents seeking some alone time can check their children into the club for free from 9 a.m. until 11 p.m., at which point for-fee babysitting is offered until 2 a.m. for kids ages 3 to 11.
