(6:58 p.m. EDT) -- Celebrity Cruises has announced a fleetwide modernization of all cabins and suites, a new sun deck and a revamped lounge, as well as a new cafe on four of its ships. As part of the $400 million "Celebrity Revolution," which starts with Celebrity Edge, the renovations are expected to begin in 2019.

The accommodation overhaul by Hirsch Bedner Associates will completely replace the current layout, decor, bedding and storage with a "sleek, contemporary and comfortable" look, said Brian Abel, vice president hotel operations, Celebrity Cruises.

"We're not just redesigning the staterooms, we're tearing them down and building them back up," he said.

Major changes include the installation of 11,579 cashmere mattresses and a reconfigured layout to "optimize storage and efficiency," according to a company infographic unveiling the renovations today.

Passengers in suites will have access to a new, resort-style Retreat Sundeck with day beds, cabanas and a pool, and a revamped Retreat Lounge, serving complimentary drinks, snacks and live entertainment.

Oceanview Cafe, "an international marketplace with globally influenced menus," is also set to be introduced exclusively on Celebrity Constellation, Celebrity Infinity, Celebrity Millennium and Celebrity Summit.

"Celebrity Cruises has always been recognized as an innovative, trend-setting brand, and the Celebrity Revolution is just another instance in which we keep raising the bar in modern luxury travel," said Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, president and CEO of Celebrity Cruises. "This is the largest investment the brand has ever made to modernize our fleet, and it's for all our guests."
