(11:35 a.m. BST) -- Channel 5's second series of "Cruising with Jane McDonald" launched earlier this month to a mixed reaction from Cruise Critic members, while cruise lines have responded positively to the show's first two episodes.
The four-part series, which has already seen McDonald explore Viking Sky and MSC Meraviglia, will also see the TV personality experience Avalon Poetry II this Friday on the Rhone River in France and Celestyal Crystal in Cuba on September 22.
Despite a mixed response from Cruise Critic members, the first episode of series two received 1.4 million viewers -- Channel 5's top-performing show of the night.
Viking Cruises' head of sales, Neil Barclay, commented: "We were delighted to feature in the first episode of series 2, Cruising with Jane McDonald – we hope it showcased the beauty of the Baltic and our stylish ship, Viking Sky.
"The response to the programme has been extremely positive and our dedicated ocean team continue to deal with a high level of enquiries."
Over on Cruise Critic's message boards some members have been critical of not seeing enough of the show's featured ships.
Ingra Tor commented on Viking's board: "I saw the show last night and having travelled on the [Viking] Star and [Viking] Sea did not think that it did justice to the ship or crew who are Vikings best asset. It showed the owners suit, which most of us will not travel in, but not the staterooms which are good."
Cruise Critic member Jem 12 added: "I agree, I like Jane McDonald but this show was very lacking in anything I wanted to watch. I haven't travelled on Viking but after speaking to an officer at a port I would love to."
CruisingFox27 offered a more positive opinion on MSC's board: "Watched the first episode yesterday and really enjoyed it, got to see more of the ship than in the last series. Looking forward to seeing the Meraviglia episode."
SquishTheWhale also wrote: "I really enjoyed it, seeing as we are going to most of the same ports it was all relevant to me. While I do wish they'd show more of the ship, I think they give a good overview."
Facebook-user Teresa Price commented: "Looking forward to this, great way to get a look at a ship/ cruise line that you haven't been with."
Susan Mace responded: "We did MSC Splendida in January on the same cruise as Jane and it was brilliant!!! Upgraded to a balcony cabin!! The only problem was English tea was terrible 4 teabags and it was disgusting, drank coffee all week. Booked on one next year to sail from Southampton and hope they have good English tea bags. Brilliant holiday."
Belinda Ann Caulifled wrote: "I want to go on this MSC cruise ship and have the Jane McDonald experience [...] looks awesome [...]"
