(4:45 p.m. BST) -- Floating Festivals has announced two music-themed cruises set to take place in October 2018 -- featuring big name artists including Michael Ball and Beverley Knight.
Both cruises will depart from Southampton on Royal Caribbean's Navigator of the Seas, with the first sailing, "Throwback," paying tribute to the 80s -- departing 12 October.
The three-night cruise will call at Zeebrugge (for Bruges) and feature eighties pop icons Jason Donovan; Sonia; Imagination, featuring Errol Kennedy; The Human League; OMD and Erasure’s Andy Bell.
The second cruise -- "Stages – the Musical Theatre Festival At Sea" -- will depart on a four-night sailing on 15 October featuring a call in Amsterdam.
West End stars Beverley Knight and Michael Ball will headline the musical theatre-themed voyage, joined by Lee Mead ("Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" and "Wicked"), John Owen-Jones ("Les Miserable" and "Phantom of the Opera") and Sophie Evans ("The Wizard of Oz" and "Wicked").
The organiser behind Floating Festivals, Jonathan Blackburn, said: "Both cruises offer something completely different and whether you are a fan of musical theatre or you fancy throwing yourself back to the heady days of 80s pop, we are confident both will be very popular.
"These are not just cruises with a theme, these are festivals at sea. The moment the passenger enters the cruise terminal at Southampton they will start to revel in an experience of which they will be a vital part for the duration of the cruise."
The announcement of Floating Festivals' 2018 voyages follows the news that Thomson Cruises has also launched an eighties-themed music cruise -- with its Electric Sunsets sailing -- departing Newcastle on 1 September, 2018.
