(1:30 p.m. EDT) -- During a two-week dry dock beginning in early November, Sea Princess is scheduled to receive new shows, upgraded restaurant menus and decor, revamped children's spaces and a whole new category of mini-suites.
According to a release from Princess, the ship will emerge with a brand-new Movies Under the Stars screen; "Encore," the line's most popular production show, which features tributes to pop, opera and musical theater; and "The Voice of the Ocean," which will hold blind auditions and swiveling read chairs, similar to what's found on the popular TV show.
Additionally, Crooners Bar will get a facelift, and the Wheelhouse Bar will sport a new drink menu, while Cafe Corniche's menu will be upgraded to include Italian-inspired dishes.
All cabins will be spruced up with new soft furnishings, including Princess' signature luxury beds, designed by sleep expert Dr. Michael Breus and HGTV designer Candice Olson. Further, the line will add a group of new Club Class Mini-Suites, which come with VIP amenities like exclusive reserved dining with special menu options and tableside food preparation.
Finally, the ship's youth spaces will be transformed into the line's new Camp Discovery. As part of a partnership with Discovery, The Treehouse (ages 3 to 7), The Lodge (8 to 12) and The Beach House (13 to 17) will incorporate activities that tie into nature and the ports of call the ship visits.
The work will finish in time for the ship's summer season in Australia, which begins November 18.
