Seven Seas Explorer

(11:30 a.m. EDT) -- Luxury cruise line Regent Seven Seas Cruises is looking for a name for its next new ship, debuting in early 2020, and it's asking travel agents and past Regent cruisers to help out.

Past passengers and travel agents are invited to submit name ideas between September 5 and 29, 2017. Names must be in English and fit in with Regent's pre-existing naming conventions (start with "Seven Seas" and end with "er" or "or"). The names of the line's current fleet are Seven Seas Explorer, Mariner, Navigator and Voyager.

As an incentive to participate, Regent will randomly select three people from among the entrants to receive a complimentary suite for themselves and a guest on the maiden voyage of the to-be-named ship. Winners will be announced by November 15, 2017. The name Regent ultimately selects for the ship will not be impacted by the names suggested by the three random cruise winners.

"Regent Seven Seas Cruises is known for our fleet of the world's most luxurious ships, our exciting worldwide itineraries, and the most exceptional staff and crew, who tirelessly deliver highly personalized service every day," said Jason Montague, president and CEO of Regent Seven Seas Cruises, in a company statement. "The name of our new ship will embody all of these qualities, as well as our quarter-century legacy of the world's most inclusive luxury experience."

U.S. and Canadian residents (excluding Quebec) who wish to submit a name should go to the specific past-passenger and agent contest websites.
