(5:15 p.m. EDT) -- Emerald Radiance, Emerald Waterways' newest river ship, was christened in Porto, Portugal, on June 16, making it the line's seventh Star Ship. Gill Williams, a U.K. travel agent, served as godmother.

According to the cruise line's website, the vessel will be the only one offering Douro River-only sailings for Emerald in 2017 and 2018; it will also venture to the South of France on some of the line's scheduled itineraries this year and next.

Emerald Radiance offers room for 112 passengers with a crew-to-cruiser ratio of 1:3. Amenities include 300-square-foot Riverview Suites that feature floor-to-ceiling glass windows on two sides, a sun deck with a pool, spa and fitness facilities, and a choice of two restaurants -- the main dining room (Reflections) and The Terrace restaurant, which offers light breakfast and lunch.

The next ship to join Emerald's fleet will be Emerald Liberte, scheduled to be christened in Lyon, France, in September.
