(9:18 a.m. EDT) -- After a three-year absence, Royal Caribbean will be sailing from New Orleans, sending Vision of the Seas for the 2018/19 winter season. The ship will sail seven-night cruises to the Bahamas and Mexico.
Before moving to New Orleans on December 15, 2018, Vision of the Seas will make two 16-night full Panama Canal transits from Miami to Los Angeles and from Los Angeles to New Orleans. The transits also mark the first time in three years Royal Caribbean has offered a Panama Canal sailing.
Royal Caribbean will also bulk up its presence in Galveston, repositioning Enchantment of the Seas from Miami to the Texas port, where it will join Liberty of the Seas. Enchantment will offer four- and five-night Caribbean cruises starting June 23, 2018, while Liberty will continue to offer seven-night Caribbean vacations. Passengers currently booked on Enchantment of the Seas sailings departing Miami after June 23 will be contacted to switch their bookings to Mariner of the Seas, which is being brought back to the United States after several years in Asia. Mariner will offer three- and four-night sailings from PortMiami to the Bahamas beginning June 21, 2018 following an extensive 32-day refurbishment.
