(1:40 p.m. EDT) -- Six new Signature Experience cruise tours will be available to Holland America Line cruisers on select 2018 itineraries departing from Amsterdam, Barcelona, Copenhagen, Rome, Venice and Montreal.
The pre-cruise tours include a two-night hotel stay, an evening event and transfers to the cruise. Evening events might include an after-hours private tour of a museum with cocktail reception; a rendition of "Hamlet" at the Kronborg Castle in Copenhagen; a nighttime visit to Gaudi's Casa Batllo in Barcelona; or an evening at the House of the Knights of Rhodes on a terrace overlooking the Roman Forum, complete with prosecco.
"Holland America Line guests are travelers who enjoy immersing themselves in the cultures of the places we visit, and our new Signature Experiences present some of the most iconic destinations in a unique way that isn't available to the general public," said Orlando Ashford, Holland America Line's president, in a news release. "By showcasing these incredible cities at night with exclusive opportunities, our guests will come away with a deeper cultural impression and experiences that go well beyond traditional tours."
Prices range from $699 to $999 per person (based on double occupancy rates), not including taxes or fees, though passengers booked in a suite on sailings on which the Signature Experiences are being offered receive them for free. All those interested in the cruise tours must call Holland America to reserve a spot.
According to Holland America, Signature Experiences for Australia and New Zealand, Asia and South America cruises are coming soon.
