(12:45 p.m. EDT) -- Starting in spring 2016, Royal Caribbean's highest paying passengers will receive an array of benefits and amenities that include a butler (aka a "Royal Genie"), free high-speed Internet, specialty dining and beverages, included gratuities, preferred seating at select venues and exclusive access to a private restaurant.
"The new Royal Suite Class redefines luxury at sea with exceptional experiences that discriminating travelers will appreciate," said Michael Bayley, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean International.
Royal Suite Class will be offered in three tiered service levels.
The Sea Class level is for passengers in family connected junior suites, family junior suites, spa junior suites and junior suites and will include premium in-cabin touches such as specialty bottled water, Hermes, Ferragamo and L'Occitane bath products and pillow top mattresses.
The Sky Class features premium bath products, pillow top mattresses and a selection of inclusive amenities including free spa thermal room access, free high-speed Internet, an in-suite welcome amenity, specialty bottled water and in-suite dining options. Sky Class is for passengers staying in AquaTheater suites, Crown Loft suites, Owner's suites, Royal Family suites, Superior Grand suites and Grand suites. Sky Class passengers also may access the Suite Lounge.
The Star Class includes the most comprehensive collection of benefits including all of the above as well as 24/7 Royal Genie service. Royal Genies (or butlers) are trained and certified by the British Butler Institute. Royal Genies help passengers with restaurant and show reservations, in-room dining requests, as well as laundry, pressing, luggage handling and unpacking. Royal Genies also can assist passengers with creating and reserving customized shore excursions. Additionally, Star Class passengers receive a free fitness class, free in-suite movies, free minibar, daily gratuities included, access to specialty restaurants for free and a free Ultimate Beverage package.
Star Class is reserved for passengers in the Quantum-class two-deck Royal Loft suite, as well as Owner's Loft suite, Four Bedroom Family suite, Grand Loft, suite, Sky Loft suite and Two Bedroom AquaTheater suite.
Both Sky and Star Class passengers will have exclusive access to a private sun deck, as well as reserved VIP seating at theater shows and the Oasis-class AquaTheater shows.
All suite class passengers will have exclusive access to the Coastal Kitchen restaurant, as well as Barefoot Beach, the suites-only private beach on Labadee.
Royal Suite class will be available for sailings beginning May 2016 aboard Royal Caribbean's Oasis- and Quantum-class ships, Anthem of the Seas, Allure of the Seas, Oasis of the Seas, Harmony of the Seas and Ovation of the Seas.
The suite class idea is not a new one for Bayley, who introduced the concept to Royal Caribbean's sister company Celebrity Cruises during his tenure there.
