(11:20 a.m. EDT) -- Princess Cruises and Holland America Line have canceled all 2015 port visits to La Goulette, Tunisia, in response to March's terrorist attack.
Both cruise lines canceled calls through May and had been monitoring the situation in the capital city of Tunis, where MSC Cruises and Costa Cruises passengers were killed during an ambush at the National Bardo Museum March 18. MSC and Costa pulled out of Tunis at the time of the event.
Six itineraries on Princess' Emerald Princess have been affected. The line has replaced La Goulette with Valletta, Malta, or Salerno, Italy through 2015.
Holland America had two ships scheduled to call at La Goulette. Eurodam and Zuiderdam will instead call at Olbia, Sardinia for the remainder of the year. All cruise passengers have been notified of the changes.
Additionally, Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas removed all calls at La Goulette in 2015 and 2016. P&O Cruises is scheduled to stop in Tunis this year. Cruise Critic is awaiting an update on any changes.
