Norwegian Escape's new waterpark

(12:00 p.m. EST) -- Norwegian is going big with its newest ship Norwegian Escape. When the ship debuts, it will be the largest in the fleet and will feature a sprawling ropes course and aqua park. Located on the top deck, the three-story ropes course will feature sky rails (a zip track that allows you to glide through the air), two planks and more for a total of 99 elements that compose the course.

The aqua park will include the popular Free Fall water slide from the Breakaway-class ships, plus adds an all-new water feature called the Aqua Racer slide, in which competitors can race side by side on tubes. With four slides in total, a dedicated kids' section, two pools and four hot tubs, the water park will be the biggest in Norwegian's fleet.

Escape's aqua park for kids will feature an enclosed tube slide, a two-story climbing structure and water cannons and buckets that deliver "surprise drenchings."  A multi-story tower, a rope bridge and lookout platform are among the areas that kids have to explore with cranks and spray jets to interact with along the way.

Other new outdoor activities on Escape include a nine-hole, mini-golf course with a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles theme, and a bocce ball court.

In a first for the line, Norwegian Escape will offer childcare services for children ages six months to three years as part of the Guppies program. As on other Norwegian ships, there will be an area for parents and babies to play together, featuring age-appropriate games and activities hosted by a dedicated staffmember.

Splash Academy on Escape, located on Deck 5, will feature an enhanced version of the Circus program with more skill options that culminate in a grand finale. Children will also have an opportunity to participate in an Officer Snook Theme Day, which focuses on environmental-themed games and activities.

Nickelodeon-branded entertainment and activities such as the Pajama Jam Breakfast and Story Time with Dora will continue on Escape.

The line announced a new partnership with Jimmy Buffet and his Margaritaville brand two weeks ago, which will debut on Norwegian Escape in the form of a bar, restaurant and music venue.
