(12:30 p.m. EDT) – This fall, Crystal Cruises will add a selection of fitness equipment, regularly selected by Olympic and World Cup competitors for their training, to the gym on Crystal Symphony. A circuit training program will also be a new addition.

Among the new indoor fitness components will be Technogym's ARTIS line of cardio machines and Kinesis strength training equipment. Technogym is the official supplier of Olympic Games and World Cup events. Additionally, parts of Decks 7, 8 and 12 will be redesigned into a multilevel, outdoor "garden" of fitness. Beginner, intermediate and advanced-level exercisers will be able to follow a 25-minute, self-guided circuit training regimen on equipment provided by Norwell Outdoor Fitness.

"Many travelers are committed to a fitness routine and do not want to forgo their healthy lifestyle while on vacation, while others may be eager to start a wellness regime for the first time," Crystal president Edie Rodriguez said. "The options aboard Crystal ships suit those seeking an outdoor workout with grand ocean views, or a hi-tech experience for intense training."

Both the Technogym and circuit training program are components of a $20 million dry dock. Earlier this year, Crystal debuted shore excursions running tours available on both Crystal ships.
