(12:56 p.m. EDT) -- Every week we catch wind of so much cruise news, we don't always know what to do with it all, but a few standout bits sometimes catch our attention. Here are some interesting snippets we think you might like to know about.

Around the World in 115 Days
It's never too early to start planning your first (or next) world cruise, especially now that Holland America has released details of its 2016 Grand World Voyage itinerary. The Amsterdam sailing departs Fort Lauderdale on January 5 and returns four months later. Highlights include a Panama Canal transit, six days in French Polynesia, 20 days in and around New Zealand and Australia, and then time in Asia and the Middle East before transiting the Suez Canal, visiting Israel and the Mediterranean.

Rock On!
The Grammy Women Who Rock festival at sea is not quite Lilith Fair, but it's pretty close. With stars like Shawn Colvin, Emmylou Harris, Heart, the Indigo Girls, Joan Osborne and others, the four-day music festival will be rockin'. The festival takes place aboard Norwegian Pearl, sailing from Miami in early November.

Two Pools Strong
River cruise operator Scenic Cruises -- scheduled to launch two new river ships in Europe in 2015 -- doesn't think just one pool is enough, so it's debuting a two-pool concept on its two new river cruise ships. The 169-passenger Scenic Opal and Scenic Jasper will each feature one warm-water "vitality pool" and a pool with a continuous current to enable lap-style swimming. Other differences from the line's original "Space Ship" blueprint include redesigned bar and lounge areas and an indoor/outdoor extension of the Portobello restaurant, complete with a moving wall of windows to enclose the outdoor area during inclement weather.

How Do I Make a Texas-Style Burger?
If you've ever wondered how to make a Texas-style burger or fold a towel elephant, you're in luck. Carnival Cruise Lines has launched a fun "How To" video series that will teach viewers how to cook some of the line's signature dishes, mix signature cocktails and fold fun towel animals. The videos will be released twice a week and can be found on the line's YouTube channel.

Savor the Inspiration
With this week's launch of ms Savor, there's yet another riverboat plying Europe's waters. Christened by Tauck board director Liz Tauck Walters, Savor is the company's second Inspiration-class boat. Savor will sail two itineraries on the Danube.
