Slideshow: Carnival Magic Gets Custom Beer, Ropes Course, More

August 24, 2010
(4 p.m. EDT) -- With less than a year to go to launch, Carnival Cruise Lines is starting to trickle out more new details about Carnival Magic.

The 130,000-ton, 3,690-passenger ship, due out in May 2011, will be largely identical to sister ship Carnival Dream -- with a few exceptions. The line has announced today that Magic will feature a few unique spaces, including the line's first pub (serving up its own private label beer), a new Italian restaurant concept (handmade pastas, for a fee) and a sports-inspired recreation area (with the industry's first ropes course and water "dump bucket").

Check it out in our slideshow!

Carnival Magic is currently under construction at Fincantieri's shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy. The ship will debut with a season of Mediterranean cruises -- the line's first since 2008 -- followed by a series of Caribbean cruises from Galveseton. Like Carnival Dream, Carnival Magic will also feature a massive spa, WaterWorks aqua park and special family cabins designed to accommodate five passengers.
