(12:45 p.m. EDT) -- What is happening in nine months, six days, 14 hours and 33 minutes? The New Kids on the Block (NKOTB) will set sail for the Bahamas on Carnival Destiny.
The boy band that found fame in the late '80's and early '90's has grown up -- and is quickly becoming the king of the theme cruise world. The group sold out their first concert cruise in 2009, literally crashing the booking servers in the process. A second cruise in 2010 sold out, as well.
The 2011 cruise goes on sale on August 13, 2010, and is sure to sell out quickly. The four-night Bahamas cruise departs on May 12, 2011, and visits Half Moon Cay (Carnival Cruise Lines' private island) and Nassau. Fares start at $699, and fans who book within the first 24 hours will receive a mystery gift.
Past cruisers do have an advantage. They can start booking at 10 a.m. EDT on August 13, but new cruisers must wait until 3 p.m. to book.
While details are scarce at this point, the 2010 cruise featured live concerts, photo sessions, deck and beach parties, Q&A sessions with the bands ... and, of course, lots of screaming female fans. The NKOTB Web site promises more face time and new events in 2011.
