(5:20 p.m. EDT) -- It's finally "christening day" eve for P&O Cruises' long-awaited Azura, which arrived in Southampton Wednesday after months of construction at Fincantieri's shipyard at Monfalcone, Italy.
The new 116,000-ton, 3,080-passenger ship is similar to Ventura in layout, but not style -- Azura will primarily be geared to adults and couples, and even features the line's first-ever solo cabins (there are 18 of them). Other signature areas we can't wait to check out include Sindhu, the gourmet Indian restaurant; The Retreat, an adults-only deck; and Olly Smith's Glass House wine bar.
We're touring the ship tomorrow -- and you're invited to join us! Tune in tomorrow (10 April) at approximately 2 p.m. BST (9 a.m. EDT) for a special live video ship tour led by Sue Bryant and Kelly Ranson, Cruise Critic's U.K.-based editors.
In the meantime, check out this slideshow of snapshots we snuck in down at the Ocean Terminal today. And be sure to stay tuned to Cruise Critic for news coverage of the naming ceremony, fresh photos of the ship and more.
