London Cruise Show Promises Expert Advice, Celebrities and Rock-Climbing

March 23, 2010
This weekend, where can you taste wine with Olly Smith and test your skills at rock-climbing?

If you guessed it's at this year's Cruise Show, sponsored by the Daily Telegraph, you're right. The two-day event will also feature cruise experts, such as Cruise Critic's own Carolyn Spencer Brown, who will opine on subjects ranging from from overcoming the most stubbornly held cruise myths (you won't gain weight!) to secrets to guaranteeing a harmonious family holiday.

The annual event, which will take place at London's Olympia on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., is a terrific way for travelers, from the new-to-cruise to experienced pros, to ask questions, meet cruise celebrities -- like wine connoisseur Olly Smith, who will be hosting a wine tasting event to tout his new wine bar at sea -- and have some fun.

Cruise lines, from mainstream mega-ship operators to niche expedition outfits, will have booths set up, and some will be offering fun extras, like Royal Caribbean with its rock-climbing wall, MSC Cruises with its on-site spa and treatment centre and Fred. Olsen, which will feature a tidy golfing green. Other U.K. cruise experts, such as Sky Television's Steve Read and the Telegraph's Jane Archer, will also be on hand.

Cruise Critic will have its very own stand (K40) -- and you're invited to stop by and compete in our Cruise IQ geography challenge and participate in Q&A sessions.

We look forward to seeing you there!
