Here We Go Again: NCL Increases Fuel Surcharge

June 5, 2008
Like I always say, where there's one fuel surcharge increase, there's bound to be another. A mere one day after Carnival Corporation announced its second fuel supplement increase in two months, Norwegian Cruise Line has declared its own hike.

Citing rising oil prices, NCL is upping its fuel surcharge, effective for all new individual and group reservations booked on or after June 20, as well as group space held prior to June 20 without specific names and confirmation deposit. The new surcharge is $11 (up from $9) per person, per day, for the first two passengers in a stateroom and $5 (up from $4) per person, per day, for any additional passengers sharing the cabin. NCL last raised fuel surcharges from the original amount on April 18.

We'll keep you posted on any other new surcharge hikes that are announced in this second round of increases. For the most up-to-date listing of fuel supplements, At Your Service: Fuel Surcharges.
