Webby Awards Honor Cruise Critic

April 20, 2006
It's a first for us and we're thrilled: The Annual Webby Awards, which the New York Times considers "the Oscars of the Internet," has recognized Cruise Critic as a site that has "demonstrated a standard of excellence."

Cruise Critic is an "official honoree" and is among pretty accomplished company, as fewer than 20 percent of the 5,500 sites submitted were so designated.

It wasn't, alas, the top honor -- just five sites were ultimately nominated for big-award contention in the travel category; these were www.coolcapitals.com, www.Expedia.com, www.Googlemaps.com, LonelyPlanet.com and TripAdvisor.com). Perhaps it's something to shoot for next year.

Beyond travel, the numerous categories range from politics to blogs and from pharmaceuticals to fashion. The awards, now in their tenth year, will be announced on June 12. For more information go to 10th Annual Webby Award Honorees.
