(1:15 p.m. EST) – Norwegian Cruise Line is raising its required daily gratuity by 50 cents, with the increased rates scheduled to take effect as of April 1, 2020.
Starting April 1, automatic service fees for passengers booked in standard cabins will be $15.50 per person, per day, up from $15.
Those booking full suites or Haven suites will see gratuities rise to $18.50 per person, per day, up from $18.
Passengers already booked for sailings departing after April 1 have until March 31, 2020 to prepay their gratuities at the current rate.
All passengers, aged 3 or over, are required to pay the gratuity; anyone who wishes to contest the service fee must do so by mail after their cruise has ended.
This is the third year in a row Norwegian Cruise Line has raised its automatic service fee on April 1.
