(5:30 p.m. GMT) -- Cruise & Maritime Voyages (CMV) has revealed a 166-cruise sailing season for summer 2021 -- its largest ex-U.K. programme dedicated to the British market -- including itineraries on its new flagship Amy Johnson.
Four ships -- Magellan, Marco Polo, Columbus and Amy Johnson -- will sail from 12 U.K. and Irish ports, with new departures from Harwich and Plymouth, as well as the line's homeport of London Tilbury.
Highlights of the season include a 36-night West Indies cruise, leaving from Tilbury on Amy Johnson; plus cruises to Greenland, the Arctic, the Baltic and Canada.
In another first, the line has also announced that it will be hosting a fleet parade when all seven CMV ships will join together at celebrations to mark the 25th anniversary of Cruise Port Rotterdam, on August 28, 2021.
Chris Coates, CMV's Group Commercial Director, said: "This unique maritime celebration and event will bring together over 8,000 cruise passengers onboard our fleet of seven cruise ships sailing from four British, two German and one French home port to Rotterdam, Europe's largest commercial and growing cruise port.
“We were looking for a North European port with a rich maritime heritage and seafaring tradition, an impressive river transit to the heart of a city and the berths to support such an event. Rotterdam was the clear winner and we are delighted to be working with such a great team at Cruise Port Rotterdam."
The 1,400-passenger Amy Johnson will become CMV’s flagship when it joins in March 2021. Built in 1991 and refurbished in 2017, the vessel previously sailed for Princess Cruises and P&O Australia before being acquired by CMV and renamed Amy Johnson following a public vote involving members of CMV's loyalty club and social media followers.
Magellan will be used as CMV's first-ever 'flotel' when it docks in Liverpool to coincide with the April 2021 Grand National at Aintree, allowing passengers to soak up the race day atmosphere.
The 2021 programme is now on sale, with incentives including a buy-one-get-one-free offer on all cruises booked before May 31, 2020.
