(1:55 p.m. EST) -- Carnival Cruise Line will offer additional European itineraries in 2021, deploying Carnival Magic from four homeport cities in the Mediterranean.

The 3,690-passenger ship will offer two transatlantic crossings along with an assortment of European voyages, in addition to a summer schedule of cruises operated out of New York and Caribbean cruises from Port Canaveral (Orlando).

Carnival Magic's 2021 spring European season will begin with a 14-day transatlantic crossing from Miami departing March 13, 2021, sailing to Barcelona and calling on Bermuda; Ponta Delgada (Azores); Lisbon, Portugal; along with Malaga and Valencia, Spain.

After a two-week dry dock, Carnival Magic will offer a series of seven- and eight-day Mediterranean voyages from Barcelona until April 25. These visit some of the region's most popular ports of call, including Valetta, Malta; and Marseilles, France; along with Civitavecchia (the port for Rome), Naples, and Messina, Italy.

Carnival Magic returns to the United States on May 3, 2021 by way of a 12-day transatlantic crossing from Barcelona to New York. Ports of call include Cartagena and Malaga, Spain; Funchal (Madeira), Portugal; and Halifax, Nova Scotia.

The new European additions are a win for Carnival cruisers looking to explore further afield. In the past few years, Carnival has typically offered only a handful of European itineraries.

Closer to home, Carnival Magic returns to New York in the summer of 2021 to offer four- to nine-day voyages to Bermuda, The Bahamas, Canada and New England, and the Caribbean. In November, Carnival Magic repositions to Port Canaveral for six- and eight-day itineraries to the Caribbean from the Space Coast.
