(12:15 p.m. EDT) -- Emerald Waterways will expand its European river cruise fleet in 2021 with the addition of the 180-passenger Emerald Luna, which will become the ninth Star-Ship in the fleet. The line has also announced new cruise itineraries and shore tours which will debut in the same year.
Like its sister ships, Emerald Luna will feature the Emerald Waterways' signature indoor pool that turns into a cinema venue in the evening along with all-weather balconies in the cabins, which can be opened and closed at the flick of a switch. The vessel will launch in the spring of next year and sail on the Rhine, Main and Danube.
David Winterton, Emerald Waterways Director of Marketing & Global Brand Curator, said: "We are delighted that the Emerald Waterways portfolio continues to grow. The new Star-Ship is to be built this year in order to increase capacity to accommodate the global demand for Rhine, Main and Danube itineraries."
Additionally, Emerald Waterways has announced a series of new itineraries including a nine-night sailing through the Netherlands and Belgium which will call at the Flemish city of Hasselt for the first time. Also new is the nine-night Springtime Delights cruise, which includes a visit to the world-famous Keukenhof Gardens.
The seven-night Legendary Rhine and Moselle sailing being introduced in 2021 also features new EmeraldPLUS shore excursion experiences, including a Rotterdam architecture tour. For energetic passengers there will also be an EmeraldACTIVE hike to the Niederwalddenkmal monument overlooking the Rhine near Rudesheim.
Cruises on Emerald Luna and the new sailings are featured in the 2021 brochure which is now available. For a limited period Emerald Waterways is offering 2021 European river cruises at 2020 prices, with savings of up to £500 per couple, plus a 200 euros onboard spend.
